Love all ur projects!! I'm amazed at all the beautiful charts that were passed along to add to ur collection. The way u described urself is exactly the way I used to be- I'd stitch only 1 thing at a time no matter how long it took, maybe with exception of Christmas cuz I'd only want to stitch that in the winter months. But every since discovering flosstube and learning about these amazing designers out there, and the stunning hand dyed fabric and flosses, I've just thrown caution to the wind and I'm like gotta have it all! Must start it all! Cuz u can't every finish anything if u don't start it, right?! 😉 at least that's what I tell myself when I'm jonesin for a new start😂 It's a lot of fun to work on multiple things now, that way I never get bored!
Happy stitchingSamantha! 🐈‍⬛🪡❤️

Another fantastic video—what an awesome chart parade! I love having my DMC in Floss-Away bags for storage, but I always cut a skein and put it on floss drops to actually stitch. I usually have several skeins in my DMC storage bags so I just shop there. 😉

Thank you for sharing your stitching Samantha. Poppy is stunning! I’m not brave enough to start a big full coverage. I admire your bravery and look forward to seeing your progress on the fairy tale piece. 😁

I work from a master set of floss. When kitting up a project I try to see if there’s enough floss (approximately) on my master bobbin for a project. If it looks like thread chicken will be happening, I’ll grab a new skein. If 2+ skeins are called for, they get dedicated skeins. If I run out of my master bobbin, oh well, it happens.

After the project is complete, all the new partially used skeins go into a baggie for when the master bobbin runs out (or a new project needs that color and it’s a common color like black or grey).

This keeps the duplicates to a minimum, but allows for dye lot to be reasonably consistent in a project. And if multiple projects need the same color, you’re less at risk of dye lots due to running out mid project.

I will say, working from a master set, you will discover just how many projects use the same colors despite how different the color schemes look. Theresa Wentzlers mermaid and Joan Elliotts Chinese phoenix share about 50% of their colors…muted vs bright…I never imagined how similar the flosses would be when kitting up the phoenix. I’m trying to kit up Joan Elliott’s rose goddess since I’ve got very little pink floss being used at the moment…half of her colors are in other projects! So she’s on the back burner for a start until more floss gets freed up.

I'm a bobbinator, and work off a master set (DMC). For projects with specialty threads, I'll kit those up with the pattern. I really can't imagine buying all the flosses for each project. 😳. Thank you for sharing! Love your joyful personality, and your projects, too! 🙂 Your Amy Stewart puzzle...I have that puzzle as well!! And Yes, it is a cross stitch pattern, too. I am stitching the HAED SAL this year, and have just a snippet of that mushroom picture {58500 stitches}.

So good to see your 2 part update. You’ve hit the jackpot with all the stitchy kindness. I’m so excited to see you started Firefly Fairies. It makes me want to start mine. Looking forward to your holiday update.

I would suggest you stick to the Bags, as you have so many. Mine are all on cards, because I did that when I started stitching again. It was Mirabillia Sleeping Beauty in 1990's, later years. I now have 8 boxes, all in order of DMC. I am turning my Natucket Rose into Anne of Green Gables. I think the girl on the swing is called Reaching the Sky. 😊
