In this video, we are going to talk about “how to find distance between a point and a plane in 3d space”. First we will derive the formula to find the distance between the point and the plane, then we will apply the formula in an example. To derive the formula we need some special technique because no point is given on the plane directly below the point from which distance have to be calculated. So, we take an arbitrary point on the plane, which can be obtained by making variables y and z equals 0. So, now we have a point on the plane. Now taking projection of vector connecting these point on normal vector give the formula to find distance between the point and the plane. Always keep in mind that distance is a magnitude. So, we will take absolute value of the result. Later on this video, I have taken an example, so that you can learn how to apply the formula.
