Thank you so much for this video. I'm a high school physics teacher teaching fluid mechanics and this video is so full of great information. I love the idea of using pressure in columns to determine the gas pressure in a pipe. I'm sharing this with my students this week!

As a plumber my question is what if we run 10’ of 1.5 inch standing pipe to test a 4 inch sewer line. Will it still be same pressure 4.3 at the bottom of the pipe. And what if it’s 1/4” pipe?

Plumbing Solutions so if its going up a hill at a 45 degree angle is it the same or only vertical feet? is it 28 inches of pipe or 28 inches of vertical height? thank u..

There would be slight variations depending on density of the water. Density is affected by temperature and dissolved particles. Solid video though. Definitely gives a workable understanding for measuring low pressures and vacuums.

There is a difference between fresh water and salt water. Seawater would be just under 27 inches per 1 psi.
