That one leak a while ago hit every mark. The open world, the new combat, beating large bosses to get to linear levels, the spin cycle, and collecting the Chaos Emeralds.

I'm baffled that this impressions video does more for the optimism and hype than the 14 minutes of Sega-provided gameplay, because UNLIKE that gameplay, this describes an actual cohesive game loop with objectives, something that some fans weren't even sure existed after seeing the first 7min clips.

There was a lot of more description put into what the game would be like, and it seems alot more complex than most people thought now that we actually know what Sonic is doing

This should've been our first first impression of Frontiers. He actually enjoyed what he played, gives some context of the story, confirms there's a skill tree, and that this footage is is from an earlier build, so many issues we see (pop-in) will be fixed in the full release.

Ok so given the red glitchy effects the enemies have, and the fact Sonic is here thanks to a wormhole, just like how Classic Sonic got into Forces, I’m 100% convinced the Phantom Ruby is involved in the story somehow
