They originally wanted Bender to sing "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" by Gordon Lightfoot, but in order to pay for the rights to the song, they would've had to also pay the families of the victims of the wreck. So they decided it would be cheaper to have Bender sing "Blowin' in the Wind" by Bob Dylan instead.
