the biggest problem is going out is simply unaffordable to the majority of working people now. People aren't willing to spend £100+ every time they go out. When I was at college about 10 years ago I could go on a mad night out with a donner kebab on the way home and it would rarely cost more than £40.

Nightclubs don't seem to be offering people any better service our experience and yet have more than doubled what they charge people. I don't see the point in going out these days when I get a better experience picking some beers up from the shop and going to a mates house. the only way to affordably go out these days is to take some garys and stick to the water.

Who wants to go and wait in a queue for half an hour for an overpriced drink? if I want to go out for a drink a pub is just fine for me.

I think a lot of people during Covid realised that nightclubs are terrible and no-one actually enjoyed going to them XD

100+ on a night out or heat the house for a week or so. Hard one.

Rather play video games then go to nightclubs and pubs

Biggest problem is thicko door staff turning customers away.

Youth of today will only stand on the dance floor filming themselves on their phone to prove to their social media friends they are having a good time 😂

The biggest problem now with the clubs is they have returned to the old days of being quite dangerous places, both during and after the night out

Night clubbing in the UK has always been terrible. It’s just people didn’t really notice it before. Customers are treated with complete disregard.
Looks like they have reaped what they sow.
Laptop and celebrity DJ’s have killed the craft. The problems with door staff and management are too long to write.

Because people would go clubbing to find a date. Its now expensive, often violent (stabbings are normalised now)and there's these things called dating apps.. and social media

Good riddance to nightclubs with all the violence and anti-social behavior. Most people had enough of it.

UK nightlife/entertainment industry is awful. There isn't bar districts like other countries, places are spread out around the cities/towns. There is a lack of service and security, the buildings and decor are generally run down with no investment in decoration and British patrons aren't fun and tend to be more aggressive

Stopped going to city night clubs when I finally had enough of being turned away by bouncers because me and my male friends weren’t accompanied by females. Also believe skin colour had a lot to do with it too.

Nightclubs continue to play the worst music imaginable. I would actually go and spend money if the music wasn’t just constantly techno and rap music

Nightclubs never had any respect for their patrons when they were doing well. Made to stand outside in a queue for an hour, only to get bother off doormen, only so some coked up owner could make himself look good. Then the endless crap of trying to get served and drunks trying to pick fights. Obviously when it goes bad, they try to make it look as if this would be a great loss to everyone. Be honest, put my trainers on and spend a Friday night in the pub, with extended hours. Costs less, can have a conversation without shouting and don't get half the hassle. No big loss.

£20-£60 each at your mates house and everyone's happy vs £100-300 each at the club and everyone's stressed?

For women going clubbing means a night of sexual harrassment and potentially even assault. I would like to go out more often but the hassle and having to be continually vigilant puts me off unless I'm accompanied by a man. Some clubs are doing more to make the night safer but unfortunately it's just not enough at the moment.
