Given the secretive nature of Sanderson, I'd wager that new warehouse has more than just books. Atium stashes, rows of portable wooden bridges, a massive pool of strange tiny black glasslike beads, mistcloaks, all kinds of stuff. There's always another secret with Sanderson!

46% currently. 32 weeks left this calendar year, minus 3 weeks of major holidays = 29 weeks of writing capacity. At steady rate of 2% per week (real percent, not just wordcount) That would put the total at 104%. So there's essentially 2 weeks of schedule margin to get first draft by January 1st. Those margin weeks have to cover atypical meetings (e.g. with Hollywood), unscheduled downtime (e.g. sickness), and growth in wordcount. So that's why it's tight to finish by January. From there 3 revision cycles can be allotted about 6 weeks each in order to deliver final draft by June 1, which again leaves just 2 weeks of schedule margin.

So, for SP#1 I received my book a few days before the Tor release came out and I was sorely disappointed by the whole experience. I was pledging during the Sanderson Secret Project reveal so I expected more. Early adopter, late receiver of book. Terrible experience.

I just received my notification today (5/17/23) that I am one of the first 17K who joined the Kickstarter so my book will be here posthaste.

I started my third re-read of TSA around the time of my good friend's one-year-old daughter's birthday - my friend and his wife both love fantasy and were borrowing some of my books at the time, so I decided to gift them (and their daughter 😂) my copies of Stormlight as a birthday present instead. They're both yet to read RoW and I can't wait to talk about it with them. And when their daughter inevitably reads the series as she grows up, I know it'll make such a positive impact on the world, as these books have done for me. Thankyou Brandon; and now that my copies are gone, I cannot wait to get my hands on the leatherbound editions instead 😄 Never stop creating!
