Jo Micali:

"Born as Joseph Micallef, in art known as Jo Micali, Jo kicked off his love for producing music as a young teenager. He began making tracks on his playstation, using very limited sounds and possibilities. Despite these limitations in his novel equipment, the tracks were already rich in content. Following this, Jo Micali, sent a demo to Malta's top DJ, J Joy, who was quite amazed at the fact that Jo had made such quality material using his playstation. JJoy saw very clearly that this guy had what it takes to produce top quality trance tunes, and told Jo to switch over to the Logic 5.5 sequencer on a Macintosh laptop. Within weeks Jo got the hang of things, mastered Logic, and started to produce new material. Upon hearing this new material, JJoy was very impressed and immediately signed Jo Micali to his record label, Real Muzik. [...]

In 2010, Jo Micali is still working hard to increase his achievements. For the time being this year, Jo has only seen one release on Colorful Recordings. Jo's epic melodic melancholic trancer "Return of the Gulls', was a perfect preparation for the long hot summer where trance music with its beautiful melodic layers goes hand in hand with the sea and the sun. This summer, Jo also worked on a collaboration with local producers U-Bahn and came out with an outstanding track that has hit the local airwaves and has rapidly gained airplay. 'Beautiful Eyes' has gained Jo a name in the local music scene and he has seen instant high positions in the local radio stations charts. Following up in 2010, watch out for more trance masterpieces coming from the capable hands of this promising talent. Influenced by the likes of Paul Van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Above & Beyond, Daniel Kandi and so many more trance producers, Jo is constantly evolving unique sounds of his own. One can see a promising future for Jo Micali, who's passion for dance music is very strong. As he says, Music is my energy, it's my way of life."

C-Systems:

"C-Systems is a Norwegian Trance Group consisting of Staro And Akki. Their combining talent has proven to be a recipy for success. Mixing Trance, groovy basslines and beats they created a specific and uniqe sound which has gained great support from the biggest trance acts in the world.

Staro started his music experience pretty early in life, playing the keyboards at the age of 8 to 12. After that he joined the local town marching band as a drummer. At the age of 15 he started playing the guitar, but it was first in 1996, that he got the real taste for trance music,. He started making music in Fast Tracker 2. In 2001 he got his first midi equipment and started using Cubase as a Sequencer. In 2005 he had his first Radio Hit in Norway called I loose my Way. It lasted 14 weeks on the chart but was never released. It was during that time he met his fellow Co-producer Akki, who also had a hit on the charts.

Akki started playing the guitars at the age of 10. In 1989 he started producing music on the Amiga 500, using Pro-tracker making hip hop tracks with friends. But it wasn't before 2002 that he started producing on Cubase. In 2005 he and Christian Zechner released a song on the radio which became very popular, claiming first positioning on the charts for some time. At that time he hooked up with Staro, and they quickly became friends and fellow producers. Thus resulted in the making of C-Systems."

Jo Micali feat. Hanna Finsen - Fade Away [Unearthed Red]

Release number 40 on Unearthed Red is by one of Unearthed's most prolific producers, Jo Micali. This time Jo has teamed up with vocalist Hanna Finsen, best known for her work with C-Systems, to bring us Fade Away. Once again Mr Micali has created a sublime piece of melodic trance music, completed with Hanna's haunting vocals and hypnotic main lead.

On the remix tip are C-Systems themselves who have taken Fade Away and turned it into a more clubby version. Rolling basslines, gentle pianos and a great interleaved main synth riff have made Fade Away their own in superb style.
