I was just in a 10 day corporate fast. My second fast I’ve ever been a part of. The first fast I lasted about 5 days skipping a meal. This time I went 4 days without eating. I am already skin and bones. I was beating myself up because I knew I needed to eat something, but didn’t want to disappoint God. He reminded me that he isn’t disappointed, but proud that I am giving it my best. He also answered several prayers along this 4 day prayer/fast. God is good, and doesn’t want you to hurt yourself. I realized that a fast is between God and you. I was trying to be self-righteous by hanging on as long as possible.

I understand you, I've been through this all my life of salvation, today i can feel my kidneys are strained, i had to force myself to hear the Holy Spirit saying don't fast this year, i tried to fast may june but couldn't there was no encouragement from the Holy Spirit; secondly i prayed going sleepless nights hours, sleeping 2 to 3 hours working for 12hrs and praying the rest of remaining hours until my neck couldn't handle my heard, with a headache right through the year, i ended with depression, after sometime God healed me from it i then knew that this body is not all supernatural, i need to respect it.

Fasting and prayer doesn't get anyone close to God nor does it make men more powerful. But they are a means by which we believers can grow. We pray to build intimacy with God(communion), and we fast to subject the flesh that our spirits may find more expressions in us and through us easily.

It is from that stance that we can build good and healthy routines to help us get the results we seek. The problem is many believers think God doesn't care or hear them unless they kill themselves. We are so much taught to be servants to to God that we forget that we are also his sons and daughters and as such have unlimited access to his abode. And so the end is, people will depend on works to please God and not faith in Jesus christ.

i have done days and days of fasting and prayer to the fullest not only by love for God and hunger for the living word but also because of self-righteousness and fear of sin, just to be told by God that he was healing me of blood turning unto water because of lack of eating, he use is glory and his grace upon me, but i will never do this again, God does not need our strenght to work in our lives, it is the opposit, we fast and pray by HIS strenght, his power, his spirit! Lord, lead us to the war, but lead us also to your arms, to our rest in your grace! thank you for giving us rest, Jesus!❤

I remember i was fasting for 3 days, in 2 days i got gripp and i wanted to continue but when i was praying and feel headache God told me to stop because he is a mercifull God, he doesn't treat his children with hardless...i heard clearly his lovely voice and i was shocked, happy in the same time .
I stopped it to drink hot tea 😊

You grow in fasting! Don't jump into long fasting unless you prepare your body for it. Do it incrementally.

SO SO SO TRUE SIR. PROPHET MAN OF GOD! And I am working on asking God after all I've been through and where me and my children are now God oh God show us which way to go and what to do that we may "NEVER OVER-STRETCH OURSELVES" and be destroyed! Man Of God you just do not know how powerful and very very important this "WORD" is! For we as believer's has to trust and ask Father God what are you saying "only" that I may not over work my self and You God alone may get the glory at the end of each and everyday of my life!
