The Bic Surfboards Shortboard 6 ft 7 will help you up your surfing performance! This board is performance driven, durable and a great step forward form the 7ft 3 mini mal. It is the perfect first shortboard at an affordable price. This board performs across a wide range of conditions and will not disappoint. Smaller kids love the 6ft 7 as a starter board because it gives them great stability but is not to big to paddle and control. The ACS construction gives great durability, making this board almost indestructible!

There are 3 basic requirements to making learning to surf a pleasure not a hardship!

1) An affordable board
2) A suitable size and shape board
3) A board that is durable and not easily damaged.

im 18 and have been surfing since i was 10. the best they to do is check craigslist. locals always post good boards up there and theyre relatively cheap. you dont want a bic board. trust me. i'm 6 foot and 150 lbs. in terms of a shortboard, you should get a board that is 6' 2'' and up. my board is 6' 4'' and works like a charm in small waves. if youre not very experienced with shooting waves (riding the wave on the side) you should get a 8' foam board. they are light, fun, and easy to turn.

hey Carolina3788 i would go with a 7'3 mal instead a bit more stable and easy to ride. You will be a lot happier and will catch more waves which it what surfing is all about.

BIC boards are shit, at least the ones the you get as a rental. the hard plastic shell is crap. no response what so ever. Fiberglass and foam boards are the only good boards out there. if you get a BIC, have fun nosediving and having a horrible time in the breakers. Foam boards are excellent for beginners that what to surf a couple times a year. foam boards last around 3 years and they are extremely cheap. you can buy them at sams club on the east coast for around 90 dollars.
