These are all I buy. STF flatspotted badly on me in less than a weeks time, spitfire did something right with the Formula Four.

Mmm, powerslides "let me just test some more"... so much fun :). I love my formula 4's for powerslides and in general, they just feel really good.

Ahaha “hope I don’t slip out on a goose turd a leaf or a wet spot “ and yes his reviews are by far the most thorough and trusted out there. And he’s funny

Some of those powerslides in the park looked like they went faster than you were rolling.

Whoa. It tripped me out to see you skating a California park I regularly go to.

Great review Ben. I def agree. Riding the same model in 52mm and working on frontside slides. They break free nicely 🔥

I first had a pair of stf v1s and I really liked them. Then I changed to f4 99a conicals and these were the best wheels ever. So much traction and grip when you need it and powerslides for day when you want to. I also found them to wear down slower than stfs but it could maybe come from the wider shape. Now I bought some 99a classics and they good at first. Little bit too slippery IMO but after a week or so one wheel chipped and had a really big hole in it which made crazy flatspot noise while rolling. Another week after, the same wheel got a really bad scratch across the surface from powersliding, almost looking like a flatspot but actually being a deep scratch. That made it hard to enjoy riding the wheels... I'm now back on my old conicals for the winter and buy some new wheels for spring. But after this major issue I don't know if I will buy F4s again or go back to bones...

Think you’d like the 99a f4s better. That’s what I skate when I do skate spitfires. Great video as always!

Another great review, but the reason why I prefer stf over formula fours is the stf grip better, are actually faster(should compare the rolling length between them) and way smoother. I’ve transitioned between each to see if formula fours were the “best” but no, bones and the years of ingenuity since the first white wheel does it for me with stf, try it Ben, use the same bearings and switch the wheels and you’ll notice how much better the bones actually are

I still prefer the 99s overall in a slick park, but have a set of 101s that are real fun - I pull them out once in a while. Powerslide city! Never pushed it so far or fast, and I truly cannot give them flat spots. To contrast, my older regular spitfires would get flatspots on day 1 in the same park, without skating that way.

Give the 99 F4s a try. IMHO, they are much more versatile than the 101s. Not as slippery on skatelite, and will give you a slightly smoother ride on crustier pavement w/o sacrificing slideability. Also, I can confirm that regular Spitfires (non formula 4) DO indeed flatspot very easily. The Formula Fours are without question the best wheels out there.

Try the 99’s in radials or radial slims. Best of both worlds!

As an old school, I love your vids. I can't stand some of the talking on the other skate reviews. Meat and photatos
