I'm torn because this is how I wish it ended but I see why they went with the original ending. The original ending have my emotions all twisted up and it's so sad. Yea Amanda son lives but she never got to fully explore life with Dawson and a love like that never happening bothers me. I prefer this ending.

This ending gives me SO much peace and happiness I can’t even begin to explain. I do this thing where every time I see a sad ending, I imagine a happy one instead and in my mind they live happily ever after. Best of me is one of those movies where I desperately wanted them to end up together. A love like that is rare and they should have been the endgame so I used to imagine them living happily ever after. THANK GOD for this video because this is exactly what I used to imagine and it’s not just in my head anymore. THIS is the actual ending IDC what anyone says.

I just saw this movie yesterday and I can't stop thinking about how sad and miserable it was, with the addition of the bitter sweet ending where she finds out her son gets to live because of Dawson, thankfully there is this happy ending version! Thank you for sharing this scene! <3
