The Galata Kulesi (Galata Tower) was built in the 14th century during the Byzantine era. It stands at 67 meters tall and offers panoramic views of the city's historic district, the Golden Horn, and the Bosphorus. Originally built as a watchtower and later used as a prison, the Galata Tower has become a popular tourist attraction and cultural landmark. Today, visitors (like myself!) can climb to the top of the tower to enjoy the breathtaking views, visit the observation deck and restaurant, or explore the museum located inside, which showcases the tower's history and significance to Istanbul's past. The Galata Tower is an important part of Istanbul's skyline and a must-see for any traveler visiting the city.
