Casio F-91W Sea test.
Though just waterproof, it's perfectly ok for swimming!
The watch still works ok!

I've had this wrist watch for close to my whole life. It fell down a 10 meter drop onto concrete, barely a scratch. Went swimming with it countless times, dove with it for hours, still worked. Admittedly: It developed some issues over the time, pretty sure it's because I always swam and dove with it, but these problems were surprisingly small. Also: They seem to have "corrected themselves" over time. I've had this watch for over 10 years. Unfortunately, the wristband broke 3 years ago (not really repairable unfortunately) after over a decade of abuse. I mean: I was a child when I got it, of course it had to go through a lot and of course something would be wrong eventually. But it's still ticking. It's got its own little place in my apartment and will sit there forever. And when the wristband broke I got myself another F-91W, which had to take some abuse as well (I work in construction) but after about 3 years still no signs of even the tiniest issue. :)

i miss these kind of videos no chit chat, no time waste, no recap, no highlights, no click bait just the content we need and want. youtube should promote these kind of videos, and creators.

The official specification for 'Water Resist' is ISO 2281 water resistance testing of a watch consists of:

Resistance when immersed in water at a depth of 10 cm. Immersion of the watch in 10 cm of water for 1 hour.

Resistance of operative parts. Immersion of the watch in 10 cm of water with a force of 5 N perpendicular to the crown and pusher buttons (if any) for 10 minutes.

Condensation test. The watch shall be placed on a heated plate at a temperature between 40 °C and 45 °C until the watch has reached the temperature of the heated plate (in practice, a heating time of 10 minutes to 20 minutes, depending on the type of watch, will be sufficient). A drop of water, at a temperature between 18 °C and 25 °C shall be placed on the glass of the watch. After about 1 minute, the glass shall be wiped with a dry rag. Any watch which has condensation on the interior surface of the glass shall be eliminated.

Resistance to different temperatures. Immersion of the watch in 10 cm of water at the following temperatures for 5 minutes each, 40 °C, 20 °C and 40 °C again, with the transition between temperatures not to exceed 1 minute. No evidence of water intrusion or condensation is allowed.

Resistance to water overpressure. Immersion of the watch in a suitable pressure vessel and subjecting it within 1 minute to the rated pressure for 10 minutes, or to 2 bar in case where no additional indication is given. Then the overpressure is reduced to the ambient pressure within 1 minute. No evidence of water intrusion or condensation is allowed.

Resistance to air overpressure. Exposing the watch to an overpressure of 2 bar. The watch shall show no air-flow exceeding 50 μg/min.

My understanding is that due to the very low cost of the watch and the fact that the same model is made in several locations, Casio have not invested in pursuing a higher water-rating for the watch. Clearly though, the watch in its current form can easily exceed the 'WR' spec.

Result? Kinda pointless if you don't show the result ;)

I think even if it still works, a little amount of water enters inside the watch and it can oxidate something along the time

Had an f91W, worked for a while but then I took it into the pool and it fogged up, this is why I wear a g shock now, would also been happy with a w86

I have an F-91W, nice watch but not a tough watch, the little buttons are too exposed when they take a hit. I work in the Marine industry . My watch often takes a hit when I'm working with machinery or lashing on a Container vessel. No-one I work with has a G-Shock. They're too bulky and over-rated. I rely on my Timex Ironman.  My watch is scarred and scratched but totally reliable and bulletproof. 20 years old and still going.
