The maiden flight of my UMX MiG-15! The 2S 280 mAh battery took 139 mAh back in to top her off, so I only used a little less than 50% for the flight...not bad!

How is Barstow these days? I lived there from 82-87, went to Kennedy middle school and a couple years at BHS. Then my dad got transferred to Camp Pendleton. I had good times in Barstow back in the day. It's where I started to build my first kit GP TR-40, flew it at the dry lake in front of Calico. People still fly at that dry lake? Met a guy back then who was trying to develop an experimental jet, pulse I think, for a Mig, might have been the 27. At the time wasn't successful, said he needed to extract another 5+ lbs of thrust. Happy landings....

I’ve had a few of Eflite’s little UMX models. I think the biggest reason I kind of lost interest is the fact that they are so fragile. Great maiden flight ! It’s always nice to get them back on the ground in one piece ! 😃
