War Bully Ulthane with Mercy Gun: Horseman of Apocalypse and the Old One (Darksiders 1)

Ulthane presents War handgun Mercy. Mercy is one of Strife's two revolvers, the other being Redemption. The achievement/trophy "An Old Friend" is unlocked upon gaining it. Once you kill the Griever, War walks in on Ulthane pounding away on his anvil with a hammer at which point he gives Mercy to War. With it War questions the blacksmith while Mercy is aimed at his head. Mercy generates its own supply of ammunition, so it doesn't have to be reloaded. Unlike Redemption, Mercy has an unlimited "clip", which means War can keep pulling the trigger forever without ever coming up empty. The drawback is that each individual bullet does significantly less damage than the ones fired by Redemption. This weapon is necessary for taking down Ashworms, including the Stygian, one of the Chosen.

Although Strife is indeed described as wielding a revolver named Mercy, it is a weapon gained by War in Darksiders from Ulthane. It is unclear as to how it came into his possession, but from his dialogue it can be surmised that he admires its craftsmanship despite the fact it is too 'dainty' for him to use. As with the Crossblade, the damage Mercy does is greatly increased once War has obtained the Legendary Enhancement known as Strife's Offering.

I love how war is too pissed to acknowledge or even ask how or why olthane got strife's pistol, while death immediately questions how they got redemption

When ulthane said "do i look like i'm afraid of death?" War should have said "pff, you didn't grow up with him..." instead.

It is true that Death is the strongest, but War said he shouldn't fear death bc Death is actually a nice guy, compared to his brothers.

Here he is, a gun pointed at his head, a gun that has probably killed countless beings more powerful than he, and what does he do?
He puts his head up to the barrel, looks War dead in the eyes, and almost dares him to pull the trigger. He doesn't even breathe a sigh of relief or anything

The fact that War is voiced by Liam Christopher O'Brien, the same voice actor that does the English voice for Gaara, make that line, "It's not Death you should fear" all the more intimidating.

This is probably one of my favorite scenes in this game. My favorite line was "Its not death you should fear." Made my spine tingle. Beautiful <33 AND AS FOR WHO SHOULD BE FEARED? War. Death is inevitable yes, but death itself is instantaneous, and I mean Instantaneous as in the very definition, no exaggeration. Its HOW you die thats usually bad/scary/fear inducing. Butatanyrate.... I really, really, really loved the Darksiders games <33.
