Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu is a 2006 Indian Tamil-language neo-noir action thriller film written and directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. The film stars Kamal Haasan, Jyothika, and Kamalinee Mukherjee in prominent roles, while Prakash Raj, Daniel Balaji, and Salim Baig played supporting roles. It revolves around a police officer who tries to track down two serial killers.

The music was composed by Harris Jayaraj with cinematography being handled by Ravi Varman and editing done by Anthony. The film is also one of the first Indian films to be made using Super 35.[Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu was released on 25 August 2006 to positive reviews and became a Blockbuster at the box-office. Kamal Haasan won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actor.

Jyothika was nominated for the Best Actress category at the Filmfare Awards.

In the shooting spot of VETTAIYADU VILAYADU, Kamal & Daniel Balaji had met only once & after completing shooting, one patch up scene was taken.

In the entire VETTAIYADU VILAYADU shooting, it seems there was only one day combination shoot between KAMALAHAASAN & DANIEL BALAJI. That one scene when Kamal goes in search of Daniel Balaji’s house & Daniel Balaji stabs Kamal from behind & they have a fight sequence. That is the only scene combination between KAMALAHAASAN & DANIEL BALAJI in the entire shooting.

Climax scene when Kamal axes on Daniel Balaji’s head is when Daniel Balaji’s dupe was used.

And one patch up scene when Daniel Balaji tries to touch kamal from behind in the airport. It was taken after the entire shoot was done.

But as a whole movie if u watch, it looks like they both acted together in every scene. But the fact is KAMAL’s scenes were taken separately & DANIEL BALAJI’s scenes were taken separately, and both their scenes r edited & joined in such a way that they are having confrontation scenes in the same place and at the same time.

This is the magic of cinema. It easily makes the audience to believe.

Most of the movies, if it is cat & mouse screenplay, the hero & villain will hardly meet in the shooting spot, as they will have less face to face scenes, mostly they will meet only towards climax, but from audience perspective, it will look like their scenes were shot together from start to end.
