As I tried to end process tree for edge, it gave me a prompt that my access was denied

Mine doesn't have any edge processes running, Both modify and uninstall are grayed out.

Task Manager option works every time, but the Repair option is unfortunately not a permanent fix. The problem with not opening occurs after I close down Edge, then later try to reopen it. First time opening after a reboot never causes a problem; it is always subsequent openings that fail. Thanks anyway.

my ASUSE510 came loaded with alot of stuff. Win11, MS suite, EDGE, McAfee, and other crap no needs. if I uninstalled anything, Edge would not open correctly or find a search. I rebuilt the laptop, created a recovery drive and started to try to find the cause of the EDGE issue. After 4 recovery's and trying all the hacks, I now have rebuilt and am very selective when choosing the install options in order to not have anything chosen that I don't need. Next I have created a registry copy that will repair the registry if I ever uninstall again. At this point, I think that McAfee is the culprit. McAfee has always been a problem as long as it has been around after it has been installed. It can never be uninstalled without problems. I have no issues with Edge or anything now no matter what I install but I do not try to do anything with the original MS software that came with the laptop. Good luck.

Windows 11 has uninstall and modify greyed out and am unable to do either.

WORKING FIX. At last, I've found a fix that works for me, and it's not the one in the video! In Microsoft Edge, click on three dots (...) on the top right of the window. Settings -> System and performance -> Turn off "Continue running background extensions and apps when Microsoft Edge is closed"

I've been having issues with Edge not opening for a month now. It doesn't even show up at all under details...
