That's backwards... the drawers are always locked now

You skipped the small part where you have to open all the drawers a small amount and the insert the over ride pins EVERYTIME you stop the lock.

So the cotter pin depresses the locking bar, just like closing the lid does. So with the cotter pin in place the drawers should always be locked. I think you skipped something.

So in my opinion if you have the box open that means you're working. If you have it closed your going home.

This hack’s just liking all the comments without acknowledging the flaws in his “hack.”

Does not everyone know that you can just pull the black cap off the springs and it won't do that anymore?

A solution to a non-problem!
Brilliant

You obviously bought that drill bit at Harbor Freight.

I wonder at what point he realised that holding the lock down just makes the drawers lock.😂😂😂😂 Obviously after drilling unnecessary holes in the thing.

The whole point is to keep the drawers from opening while rolling the cart. It’s a roll cart, not a box that’s supposed to sit up against the wall.

BS, when the door is down the buttons are down, you pining the buttons down would have the same affect.

what u actually do is take the plastic caps off the locking tabs and cut the metal part down to where it sits flush with back of box. when ready to lock up for the day, put the plastic caps back on so the lid pushes them down to lock.

I have one and all you have to do is take the black plastic caps off and cut about 1/8 inch off the metal under them. Then if you want to shut the lid and still use the drawers you can just pop the black caps off and when you want to lock it all back up, you put the caps back on and it will work how It did originally.

I have this same cart from Horrible Freight and another nearly identical from Mac. Both are over a decade old. Neither have had any issues at all. Just one was $1400 and the other was $200.

1 out of 4 times that drill bit jumps into your finger and it’s a really bad day. For anyone looking to do this, please use a mallet or some other non-fleshy object to compress the button.

So you have to open every drawer and then set the pins and "close" every drawer

Or just leave drawers slightly open when you shut lid

Cool, but why didn't you use tape to hold them down? I'm sure that would have been easier

decoy_

Yeah didn’t you just make the drawers stay locked when the lid is open now?

You pinned the locks down where they lock the drawers... Which is exactly what the lid does already.. why skip the most important part of telling people they have to have every drawer open just a bit before this works?
