Great video, this is the kind of video I was looking for as I have an RMR currently and need another optic. I may wait until the new ACRO P2 comes out before I make a decision but I believe enclosed emitters are the future of pistol dots.

The RMR has always been the gold standard, but the 509T is now superior in my opinion and I'm personally swapping all of my optic pistols over to 509T and EPS optics. I love the closed emitter on my carry guns as I no longer worry about lint and other debris being in my optic. EPS makes mounting easier too. Closed emitter, shake awake technology, easy battery swap, multi-reticle, very dependable and tough, great warranty, cost less, it's an easy win. Only real downside to the Holosun is that it's not made in the US, but most things aren't anymore. The RMRs are great sights, I just like the closed emitter and newer technology.

The 508 isn't anywhere close to half the price. In fact, you can still find the gen 1 509 for less than the 508. And the footprint on the 509 isn't the same as the rmr. It uses a plate to adapt it to the 509. You can get different plates for other footprint mounts that adapt to the 509. Like the plate to adapt the glock mos to the 509.

I love trijicon but I bought the holosun 508k and I'm sold. Also bought the 509t. I am a firm believer of buy american but if trijicon can't step up with better designs, they will be left behind. I'm already planning swapping out some trijicon for more holosun

I like the look of the Trijicon more BUT the Holosun is the clear winner...

I have enjoyed my experience with the 509T and the 508T, very solid offerings.

I agree. Muscle memory/practice. Running SRO and a type 2. Would like to see an abuse video on this. Update: just watched Sage Dynamics 10 k round review. Good things👍🏻

I'm staying w/ the Trijicon RMR type 2, you get what you pay for.I have one on my Benelli M4 H2O and on my Glock 20 Gen 5 MOS and very happy w/ it....

Man I want one of these two sights, my problem is the trijicon is made in America which is great, lacking in features that the similarly prices holosun is packed full of, the holosuns design with the closed emitter is probably going to be more durable. Darn you trijicon for not having different reticles or shakeawake or sidegate battery door

Just go to dots. Military & Law enforcement is already jumping to dots in basic. Irons are cheaper and EMP proof, but dots make you better faster.

I disagree. I think starting with the dot can help you diagnose exactly what your gun is doing when you press the trigger and what it does when the gun recoils. It helps your fundamentals and can help you fix your own deficiencies. Making you a better shooter overall

I have a Holosun just because I like a green dot

with the 509T being closed emitter I feel like it actually wins in the "go to war" category as well, no?

I love the video but I completely disagree with your introduction. Red Dots remove the second focal plane and are significantly more simple to teach and learn. They also instantly show your flaws.

Iron sights are 10-20MOA and you can easily shoot them “OK” with extremely Poor fundamentals. But if you can present shoot and fire a dot accurately and fast you will easily be able to shoot irons.

If you don’t believe me Hailey, Larry Vickers, Arron from Sage Dynamics and pretty much every reputable instructor has videos explaining why Red Dots are better for new shooters.

I like the Holosun a lot, too bad I can't find it where I live.

Mount your dot with cowitness irons, THEN practice with your irons. Through a turned off optic.

I carry a 509t, but rly leaning towards buying an rmr. The 509t's slight magnification is annoying. And chinuh
