A little late to this one but this year I got a korg volca sample 2 largely due to your video on it. Its been my first piece of digital music making hardware and has been an absolute blast to use! Nice video, Josh! I especially like the track you made on the M8. Wonderful arrangement of sounds and a nice feeling to it.
And that CZ-5000 sounds amazing indeed!
My favorites continue to be the Roland SH-01A and the Yamaha reface DX. They’re easy to use and they make just the right kind of sounds that I want to make.

Favorite music gear of the year: iPad. I kinda hate Apple so it sucks to say but the sheer versatility and fun held in that has largely replaced my laptop and analog gear. Its so self contained and while Apple may seem to hate music creators, the love put into the software by smaller developers is amazing not to mention you can get a lot of the same vsts for a tiny fraction of what their computer equivalents cost
