Taku is nice. He was askin people if they wanted to hold the trophy after he won...and of course I said yes! Great tournament!

😂😂 wow this interview w/ Taku is great!!
I have never laughed so much during a podcast!!
The fishing industry definitely needs more Taku personality’s and less negativity!

Trey is the most impressive young man I’ve ever met and I’ve lived a lot of life. He’s not just a great angler, he’s a great human being. I’d never bet against him.

BIG fan of these longer Podcasts… perfect for me while I’m working!

First off, Congrats to Walker! Congrats to Taku.

Also, I just have to say I love hearing Jake talk about his kids and when he gets all choked up. I’m a dad of 5 and when you see your kids set a goal and work their ass off to achieve it, there isn’t a prouder feeling!

I watched the entire interview that Dave Mercer had with Trey Mc Kinney. I have been impressed with Trey McKinney but never more than I am now. What an inspiration he is to so many! I know this setback will not hold him back and pray he can get the much needed rest and that he can enjoy this next month of just fishing before his next big tournament! He always gives God all the glory and has never blamed anyone but himself for the short comings he has had this season which I admire even more and to be only 19 years old. Wishing you the very best, Trey!

Another great show, thank you. Jake is legit, it's so awesome to see someone so passionate and thoughtful about his job. Great dad too! And I am loving the Taku / Kyoya soap opera develop before our eyes, lol. I wonder if Kyoya thought Taku was just a youtuber and not a hardcore fisherman... To be continued 😎

I don’t mind the long podcasts because I watch them or listen to segments when I am chilling in the man cave or on my morning walk . Always enjoy Taku and Jake’s take ! I’ve been a fan of Taku since he won on the St. Lawrence . Gotta have more “Taku time” in the tournament world these days . His sense of humor is infectious !
I also enjoyed Trey’s honest interview of his mistake at Smith Lake . I think it’s a learning experience for him as a young angler to pay attention to the details .

Trey one hell of a competitor, complete raw emotions. I think as Dave said in interview we see grown supposedly men run and hide after a dumb decision.(superbowl, bad decisions that cost people there careers, etc.) Trey, you got this head north put your blinders on catch big bags, stay focused, and would be the comeback of the year.) I'm your number one fan make it happen. Wish all the best Lunker

Jake Latendresse, your emotions when talking about Walker during this podcast is as pure and as real as it gets! Thanks to both you and Dave for sharing this! Much love brother!❤

Just got started on this one. Will probably have to comment again later. Just want to say to Jake, High Five!! ✋️ to you and Walker. Also, no words needed at all. The emotions say it all.

Great show again Dave! Jakes Take is one of the best segments on any podcast. Taku is an absolute hammer and it is refreshing to hear his stories. His English has come such a long way since he first showed up here on the Elites and the adversity he deals with being away from his home 8 months out of the year is crazy. I have a new found respect for Trey. His only excuse is that he just got confused and admitted it. Sounds pretty stand up to me. He said he's not a northern fishery guy, but rest assured, he will figure them out and probably wins AOY. I think he's that good of a fisherman. Dave, thanks for another week of a fantastic show!!

I’ve never laughed at a fishing podcast until now 😂Taku is great. They better give him that seat and orange box and carry that trophy for him. He’s a great character.

Another great show! Jake is awesome. The passion he has for being a cameraman and a father never gets old.

Taku is one of my favorites. He's so good for the sport. It's got to be tough being away from his family for months at a time. I'll never know that sacrifice. I'm sorry but I find it hilarious he gave you a decoy powder. What a sneaky dude.

Trey, I've a fan of him since the Lake Fork tournament. I was 19 once, and was irresponsible . No excuses but the mistakes he's made are learning moments. Young and dumb is what my dad always said. Don't misunderstand, I don't think Trey is dumb in any sense. He's got a shot at AOY. It's a fight now, but that should give him motivation to be as good as he can be! Thanks Dave for a great show!

Smith Lake was an incredible event!! I love it when they are that close with the remaining field having a shot at the win! Glad I got to be at Friday's weigh-in where I stood next to a 9 year old girl who I asked who her favorite angler is and she said, "I like Takumi! He's my favorite." Way to go Jake! Doing what it takes as always. Dave, keep doing what you do - I agree that longer is better! We'll watch it!

Great show once again! Always enjoy Jake's Take and who couldn't love watching Takumi. I could watch him everyday. What a great guy. As for Trey, I think we are still learning who he is, but people forget that this young man is 19 and still learning who he is. He is gonna make mistakes. I am just glad nobody was following me with a camera and microphone at 19. I am impressed he was willing to talk a day after this happened.
