I make myself follow 3 rules for the Sephora event.
1. Only buy brands that are not at Ulta. IMO Ulta has a better rewards program. Also, right now they have a coupon for 20% off everything (including prestige brands) for Diamond and Platinum members.
2. Only buy brands that never or rarely have their own discounts (e.g. Dior, Tom Ford, Patrick Ta, etc.). Some brands have deeper discounts on their site (e.g. Fenty, Huda Beauty).
3. Check the price at Sephora against Kohl’s. For example, the Sephora Collection About That Shine Lacquer Shine Lipstick is $16 at Sephora, but $9 at Kohl’s.
