99% of Protein Bars Are Actually Pretty Sketchy [Here's Why]

Not an actual stat... but a rough estimation of what I've seen in the health field from my experience as a Nutritionist. It's very rare that I see a protein bar that I would feel comfortable recommending to my clients, let alone consuming myself. To be honest, I was pretty nervous about making this video because I know that it won't be popular with most people and it's not something anyone wants to hear. BUT I've made it my mission to provide you REAL, HONEST information (without worrying about people/companies I might upset) so that you can live a life where you feel GOOD. That's the most important thing to me - making sure you feel good. And these protein bars (or most protein bars, rather) are most likely not making you feel good. You might THINK they are, but once you get rid of them, you'll notice a ton of positive changes to your body.
Today I'm sharing the details of why most protein bars are really just cleverly marketed candy bars and should not be part of your wellness routine.

Was using my headphones to watch your video and your entire audio is split with the background music on the Right channel and your vocals on the Left. Made it very hard to watch, otherwise nice video.

I only eat the kirkland signature protein bars from Costco... 1g sugar, 150 cal, 5g fat, 22g protein and 15g fiber. the ingredients are clean too. best part is it come out to only 95cents/bar.

I like larabars... my parents would give them to me and my siblings as “candy bars” and would not let us go trick or treating and give us larabars or date balls

If I eat a protein bar, it has to have:
-At least a 10:1 calorie to protein ratio
-doesn’t really taste too good
-little to no sugar

Simply protein bars are pretty decent for that to my recollection but that’s just my opinion. If I’m really desperate for a snack or sugar, I buy a protein bar instead of junk food. Keeps me from doing worse.

I've only been eating protein bars because it's an easier way for me to eat more calories

Quick question… I know that you’re referring to protein bars in this video, but what is your thought on regular proteins such as iso 100, or quest? And furthermore my question is how does protein powder really affect your body? I eat a lot of protein powder in different foods and shakes throughout the course of the day. I just really like the way that it tastes. My protein is really high overall and I feel very bloated often. I also eat a lot of Jell-O though. Do you think it’s a combination of these two, thank you for your time in advance.

Wait so the Kirkland signature protein bars that have only 2 grams of sugar are not good?

What do you recommend eating on the go before a workout? I like to get up and leave because if I wait too long I just won't leave the house, I usually take a bar and eat it on my way then I get started with my run so the bar is usually OK. Any healthier ideas?

Stumbled upon your videos more recently. How do you feel about the Keto snack bars, etc?

They’re definitely a crutch and highly addictive. I just put my last quest bars in the freezer to prevent myself from having one tomorrow. Pray for me 😂😂🥺

Thanks for the info. How about Protein drinks? I do look for fiber and sugars. Any other hidden ingredients I need to look for?

A little off topic - but what would be the best food source or energy gel sources for long and/or ultra distance runners? I don't want fake but I don't want killer sugar bombs either :(

Also, do you do online diet consulting ? My elderly parents are old school - love bars bars bars ....and could really benefit from different food choices. Thanks, Bob

What about raw bite, lifebar??
There are some of those that are pretty healthy (low glycemic index with more fats and protein in the form of nuts/seeds)
