I played theorbo back in high school for about 3 years. Over that time, I learned this, Canario, and a few other amazing pieces by Kapsberger. The way you play this instrument makes me wish I still had access to a theorbo, I really miss playing it. It's easier if you play guitar or know how to fingerpick (obviously, I mean look at his picking hand omg). Doesn't mean it's an easy instrument though. The frets are larger (usually, even despite being movable), and the reentrance tuning of the last two strings take time to get used to. Hand cramps? All the time actually. I wasn't too good at this, but wow, you play this piece beautifully. Kudos my friend

My favourite ever piece for theorbo! Can you imagine the heavenly resonance this piece would have carried, played in the echoiest spots of the many cathedrals and chapels dotted across the expanse of the Holy Roman Empire?
