Swans new album, The Beggar, released worldwide June 23, 2023 on Young God Records/Mute. Formats include 2X LP, 2CD, as well as download and stream.

“After numerous pandemic-induced cancellations of tours for the previous Swans album leaving meaning, and an apparent bottomless pit of waiting, waiting, waiting, and the strange disorientation that came with this sudden but interminable forced isolation I decided it was time to write songs for a new Swans album and forget about everything else. They came relatively easily, always informed by the suspicion that these could be my last. When I finally was able to travel, songs in hand, to Berlin to work with my friends recording this record, the feeling was akin to the moment in The Wizard of Oz when the film changes from Black and White to Color. Now I’m feeling quite optimistic. My favourite color is pink. I hope you enjoy the album!” – Michael Gira

It sounds great! It has a very 90s-Swans sound, but without feeling redundant or overdone. Great track, I can’t wait for the album.

[Intro]
Ah, we're drugged by the sun
Here he comes, here he comes
Just waiting to become
Here he comes, here he comes
Growing in a lung
Here he comes, here he comes
Gathering our tongues
Here he comes,  here he comes

[Verse 1]
Tunneling the ground
Swallowing this sound
Injecting insect dreams
That he's singing into being
Please open up your hands
You woman, child and man

[Refrain]
Here he comes, here he comes
Here we come, here I am

[Verse 2]
Sucking colors from the root
Of the syphilis fruit
Flattening this land
Scattering the sand
Burning every tree
Burning every book
Pulverizing the ruins
Of the city that he shook
Flooding through the gates
Screaming through the wires
Flashing in the screen
Swimming in the fire
Inhaling everything
That ever was or will become
Gathering us in
To undo what he has done

[Refrain]
Here he comes, here he comes
Here he comes, here he comes
Here he comes, here he comes
Here he comes, here we run

[Outro]
Run! Run!
Run! Run!
Become! Become!
Run! Run!

Swan's music is like a song or melody that I hear repeating deep in my dreams. And when I wake up I can still remember it as though it were real.

I am so happy that Swans are still doing so good music, I really love their last album and this sound very well also.

Yay!! My favourite band. I saw you in Leeds, UK, a few years ago, well actually it might have been 2013, how time flies. I was the nerd with glasses standing in the front row.

Not sure if this has any relevance to the song itself, but after confirming with a paper copy of Gray's Anatomy, it appears that the highlighted (In red) portion of the drawing of the heart is either the trunk of the right pulmonary artery or possibly the ligamentum arteriosum. More likely the pulmonary artery, considering the lyric from "She Loves Us!", being "Come to my lung" as well as the reference to this organ in the lyrics of "The Glowing Man" Additionally, this song contains several references in its lyrics, such as "Growing in a lung" and "Inhaling everything". In his body horror anthology book, The Consumer, MG also makes a couple of references to this in the story "The Man Who Hid His Body Inside A Horse, Or, My Vulvic Los Angeles", to which I'm reasonably certain this song is related: Most notably, "When the door shut behind them, the heat was instantly suffocating, like being inside the lungs of a corpse" Now, with all of that being said, arteries, as the average med student will note, carry blood away from the heart and, in the case of the pulmonary arteries, towards the lungs. That is, blood that has already travelled through the lungs, becoming oxygenated, has its hemoglobin exhausted and returns to the heart through this artery to repeat the process.
So what does all of this mean? Something to do with repetition? Loss of breath? Physical degradation? I have no earthly clue, and I honestly think that looking for some kind of deeper meaning, as if you're decoding the Enigma Machine, is usually ludicrous unless that is the expressed intention of the artist (E.g. ✬ by David Bowie) and frequently attempts to diminish the importance of the art in question if none is to be found.
Just some info for you folks who are inclined to do so.
I could be wrong about my assertion regarding the hidden meaning here, or lack thereof (Not to be confused with themes in lyrics). However, if you care to disseminate this information, Mr. Gira, shoot me an email and I'll hook you up with some killer Floridian cigars. On me, of course.

A lot of said it already, so I'll reiterate.- very strong TGA vibes... has that LA feeling from the stories in The Consumer. You could imagine this track being played at Spahn Ranch. Continues on that path of exploration with cult/church leaders. Made me think of Process Church.

Like so many other Swans songs, I wasn't into it at first, but after two listens, it's stuck in my head and I'll play it on the way to lunch today.
