Are music creators any less music producers? This is what we're talking about today in this video. It is a serious debate in the art/music community that I wanted to touch on for a while. If you wanted to build your own music business through social media but hesitated because you felt 'less worthy', I hope this video helps :)

This is a really great take! Content creation is the modern way to get heard and sustain oneself financially in any creative endeavor. Also just a side note, the level of production in your videos these days is wildly amazing! Hope you are doing well :)

Well I just spent over 6 hours editing todays video and its mostly just a screan capture with a voice over, and no I would definitely not be able to do music production properly and video production at the same time. My priority is always going to be music first, but most people who criticise don't even make any money or have any following at all and are jealous. What you do, is what You do, its ok to be doing videos just keep them about music on this channel and your good.

It's great that you chose to talk about the elephant in the room, I feel like a lot of people in the music production niche don't assume the fact that being a content creator as a music producer is like cheating or something, but in reality it is a way of making a living through music, just like having a band project and going on tour is another one. It's great that there are now many ways to live our passion, there will always be people to judge but hey, why should we care !
Anyways, this video and the previous one are of great help to me, so thank you for that, as always :)

That's a thought provoking take. It makes me look at all the promotional stuff YouTubers do in a different light. Thank you. Also, your definition of music producer makes sense and is also very liberating!

THIS 100%
Some of us use different avenues to build a community & earn money at the same time. For me, I live stream DJ sets so I can work on making music. It's been a bit for me to accept I dont need to be in front of Ableton 24/7 lol so this video def confirmed that.

Such a great video. I consider myself a part time music producer as I work usually full time as an AV Tech, though sometimes I don’t know even after 20 years of music producing whether I am an AV Tech or a Music producer as most of my money has always come from my full time job

I agree. If you're a content creator, you're a content creator and sound like a hobbyist on the side.

Totally agree, gates are always going to hate and if they are hating, then you are doing something right don’t give up or let them get into your head we all go this. Just keep pushing through 💯🔥🔥

When you make money and have proteges and interns doing all the other stuff that's my idea of a music producer, and gold chains, gotta have a goal to get there just like a musical idea, gotta aim high not necessarily stoned just with a beautiful mind to go far into the music realm so rock on if you are into that, you will never be too discouraged as long as it has a great sound to go with it.
Thanx for the encouragement 😘

I disagree with most of what you said. The problem is the word Producer has become diluted and pretty much meaningless today. Like the person who goes and buys a guitar watches a ton of Youtube's, learns a couple tunes and now tells everyone they are a musician, you are a guitar player not a musician takes a lot more skills. Same with real producers there are a lot more skills to learned to make that leap from someone who sits at home writing songs and recording them. Now I am an old guy got my first studio job in the 70's and worked with a lot of the big name producers and watched them work and know the skillsets they all had. So the person sitting at home writing songs and recording them one day may become a producer, but they aren't there yet. Back in my day you'd just call yourself a songwriter.

First of all 99% of music producers make money outside from pure music-art making. It is the system like that. But, unless you produce art (music ) regularly, these producers don't produce art. They are helping other producers, but they are not artists themselves. Also the professors in music schools are not artists, they teachother people how to make art..
