Zen 5 X3D Early Launch - Ryzen 9800X3D Release Date
AMD looks to be releasing their Zen 5 Ryzen 9000 X3D parts early if leaks are to be believed. Not only that, but they could be around 30% faster or maybe even more if AMD does choose to increase clock speeds or cache available.

If I'm understanding right, zen 5's ladder cache would mean they could put the v-cache on top and both chiplets would be able to access it automatically. But we still don't know a lot about the architecture, so we'll learn for sure soon enough

I sure hope they don't jerk us around with X3D. No long waits and please put the cache on both chiplets.

If they fixed the temp issues with the 3dcache, do we need a non x3d lineup?

Looking forward to all the prices when x3d comes to market as well

I feel like, if I'm doing mostly 4K gaming, processor upgrades don't buy me a ton right now since I'm usually GPU-limited (my 5800x3d seems like it never gets in the way). At some point the speed gains from DDR5 will probably be enough reason to do a platform upgrade to AM5. 9800x3d might be the time for me to finally step up.

My major question here is: what does graphically challenged pc run on?

The competition with 9000 series x3d parts isn't with anything Intel, it's with 9000 series non-x3d parts and 7000 series x3d parts. If 9000 series x3d is 20-25% faster than 7000 series and is approximately that much more in price then that may be good for those not already on the AM5 platform, but if non-x3d 9000 series is only 10-15% slower than 9000 series x3d and is more than 10-15% less expensive then why not "split the difference" and get the non-x3d part? You get the performance increase from 7000 to 9000 series and you don't pay for a performance increase that you probably notice anyway!

Why are they Releasing the "X3D" early ? Because the "Ryzen 9000" was NOT greeted with the level of excitement that they were Hoping.
This news certainly makes me believe that early Lame Benchmark leaks are True.

I doubt that there will be a 2nd X3D Chiplet on 12 / 16 Core X3D CPUs, they would loose the high clock Speed at the Boost /in Apps unless AMD find a way to remove the clock speed / Voltage limitations with the X3D Cache . The real Gaming CPU is the 9800X3D, 9900 and 9950X3D are meant to be a Hybrid for working and Gaming

I am planning a build with x870 mobo, 9950X3D and maybe a 4070ti super or 4080 depending on which is a better deal. Tbh in my use case anything above 4080 is way overkill.

They should just release with the 9000x chips but like every company they like double dippers.

Just bought a 7800x3d, love it, game on a 49" G9 Samsung monitor, wonder how frames I'd get to upgrade to the 9800 x3d.

In my opinion, who has a 7800X3D should not upgrade, especially when playing at 2K, 3K (ultrawide), or 4K.

I rather the do a cpu with one 3dv cache chiplet and the C chiplet for 9900/9950

pricing is spoiling to be ridiculous though.. with SSD prices already at all time highs relative to last year.. the rest of the components averaged in will make newer highs overall compared to last year.
