Canadian's voted for the slogan 'change' when they elected JT in 2015. That's exactly what they got.

When you establish an owning class and a working class; you historically can't expect the owning class to help out.
People feel culturally locked out of optimism.

Interest rates mean nothing if a house is 30x the average yearly income. A house is a place to live, not a place to make money from.

Liberalism provides equal opportunity and equal misery…now we all are poor.

No wonder about lack of rentals. Have a good look at Ontario. Why would anyone go down that dark road?

Things aren't good for most people -- that's shocking in a country like Canada.

Interest rate cuts ? How about the cost of groceries, fuel, and TAXES ?

Squatter rights is what's preventing potential landlords from becoming one.

5:50 the problem is not homeowners refusing to become landlords. The problem is too *many* landlords and not enough people living in the homes they own.

What alot of people don’t understand is that not everything that goes down has to come up. Things actually collapse consistently. Every country that existed has collapsed. And Canada is currently collapsing, it will never recover.
Things such as behavioral sink show us that sometimes even changing environment or policy has no effect when things spiral negatively. Good luck Canada hope you can count on family and loved ones

The fact that climate change is above immigration says everything about Canadians being informed.

The number one issue in the country is Trudeau. Time to go!

The last sentence was key. 15% of Canadians have space but don't want to deal with tenants.
I'm a landlord myself and you can't even imagine how hard it can be to deal with tenants and how much lopsided the law is in tenants favor. We could create another apartment for rent but as long as laws stay as they are we are not planning on creating more living space for rent.

We should not be dependent on homeowners renting out a room in their home. This is ridiculous because we're talking about shelter, an essential good. It's time to limit the jumber of homes we can own, eliminate foreign investment in residential real-estate, and put meaningful rent controls in place.

Imagine renting your home because you can’t cover the mortgage, someone moves in doesn’t pay you rent, destroys your home, your on the hook for extra utilities usage and then you can’t get them out to sell your home, because laws are all in favour of the renter. Canadians are royally screwed. 😬😬

Reluctant homeowners not willing to have renters live with them and that's the problem...? Their views are so twisted, I don't know where to start.

I think I'm one of the "well off" ones (maybe delusional) and this is the first year that we will not be taking a summer vacation.

It's hard to budget when interest rates change every now and then.

It's not shock that rents have increased and will continue to increase for years to come. The costs associated with owning a home have jumped significantly between mortgage costs but also maintenance and utility costs. I own a small 1 bedroom condo which I live in and my maintenance fees have gone up 30% since 2020.
