Budget 2024: Economic Survey Expects India's GDP to Grow by 6.5-7%, Flags Jobs Concerns

India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government has presented the Economic Survey 2023-24 ahead of the Budget. The pre-budget document was tabled by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Parliament. The survey, prepared by Chief Economic Advisor Nageswaran, reports an 8.2% GDP growth in the financial year 2023-24, driven by the manufacturing and construction sectors. It projects a 6.5-7% growth in the ongoing financial year 2024-25. While the survey noted India’s economy has shown resilience amid geopolitical challenges, it also questioned its approach to the manufacturing sector. The Survey said that considering the dominance of China in the industry, it may not be the most “prudent approach” for India to think it can fill the spaces left vacant by Beijing. The survey also discusses issues like inflation and unemployment. It noted that while inflation declined to 5.4% in the last financial year, food prices rose due to adverse weather. It said that unemployment fell to 3.2%, but there is a need for the country to create 78.5 lakh jobs annually until 2030.

Don't take credit for the growth that is made from the money a commoner is making from his life long hard work from birth to death. This is an India made from the hardwork of every common man. Not something for these state and central govt to boast about.

Total revenue expenditure of Salary wages and Pensions ( multiple ) and other perks of 543 Lokasabha MPs, 250 Rajya Sabha MPs and around 5000 State MLAs running more than Rs 10000 Crores a year . Then comes MP LAD Rs 5 crore per MP per year Pocket money .. If Corruption is not tackled, VIKASIT BHARAT may have to be called as VIKASIT CORRUPT BHARAT .. in Total Quality Management TQM -- there is one term called HIDDEN FACTORY - It means we can increase capacity equal to another factory only by efficieny improvement .. I worked in one of the big plants major paint company where this has litterally happened .. 50000 MT plant started producing 80000 MT without much addition of new machinery and purely due to efficiciny improvement .. Country need to talk of efficiency of Public servents IAS and others and simplyfy systems take out HIDDEN GDP from within -- Wastage is too much in India .. Around 2% GDP goes only in wastage .. No one talks

The FM is truly useless, we need a new more competent person for this job at this critical juncture. The government needs to fallback to the economic advisory counsel to look for a replacement.

GDP Wastages in India

Too many Government vehicles, Too many government big houses / bungalows, Too many Circuit houses and big big Inspection bungalows / Highly inefficient system -- Too many departments and too little work ( espaiclly in State government departments ), Too many rework -- Too easy going work culture of Government staff due to guaranteed job profile and pension, Very high pension out go for old people ( Many pensionres above 80 getting More than RS 1 lakh pension which is a waste -- need to cap ), Biggest drain on GDP is corruption .. Prevention of corruption ACT is non starter and not effective at all .. Any new investment into this leaky system is putting water into open bottom bucket .. Its high time focus on Efficiency
