Google is in bed with NASA and all images of Earth from actual space, that's released to the public, are only EVER computer generated images.
These images aren't from outside of Earth but they're still pretty suspect. Except for maybe a few, while they did have pretty colors and were nice to look at, but did they look like actual photos of areas where people actually live? Quite a bizarre group of choices for photographs of Earth if you ask me.
