I believe I saw this same live set on Viva Plus in 2004 - 20 years ago and that was the moment I became a fan of Ash. What a great band, such effective and competent songwriting, Tim is a wizard on guitar and his and Charlotte's voices complement each other so well. The sound is so catchy and melodic yet still incredibly energetic and finally, they all look so effortlessly cool as a band. Love Ash forever.

Great upload, thanks. This, personally, is Ash in their glory. Best period pre- Charlotte's 'leaving' in'06. Without her their not the same band. They shouldn't have sacked her, she did NOT leave, despite people thinking otherwise.

I used to have a cassette tape recorded from the radio when they were out demoing all the meltdown songs on tour prior to it coming out and it was the first time i'd heard Charlotte really doing backing vocals and harmonies. I honestly think this was the best version of Ash ever, the harmonies from Charlotte just seemed to lift a lot of the songs to a new level especially on songs like Girl from Mars.

I also wished Ash expanded on that metal vibe with Clones more often, they do sound like a great band trying that style out

It's not about playing ability or songwriting or creativity or musical differences or anything else you want to deflect onto. That band right there is Ash. If Charlotte isn't there it's not Ash. Just as Suede without Bernard Butler isn't 'really' Suede.

Great recording . But the more you see them then, the more you realise how stupid it was to ask Hatherley to go . Its like cutting off your right arm . I understand there was some jealousy from the other band members that she was looking and sounding better than them
