Exactly one year has gone by since we took delivery of the 2018 #Porsche718CaymanGTS and while we will be sad to see it go, things change and it just doesn't make sense to keep in the fleet. In this video, we'll be going over what it was like to live with a brand-new #Porsche #718Cayman for a year, what we liked, what we disliked, and go over the exact reasons why we are selling the #CaymanGTS. Please feel free to let us know in the comments what you think we should replace this car with next summer!

After 4, 000 miles it's holding up well. Yeah I would hope so.

You said that it sounds like a Subaru but the original engines from Porsche were 4 cylinder boxer engines in the 1950’s so in summary Subaru engines sound like a Porsche engines not the other way around.

The 987 Gen Cayman was my favorite. It handled like a dream, and it was Porsche’s epitome of a driver’s car. Just pure bliss from that flat six.

I purchased my Porsche Cayman 718 GTS May 7th 2019 and have already taken it over 12K miles and I love it!! I also retired with 40 years of military and fed service May 2019. My Cayman GTS has the red stiching inside and no GPS, but its a great car. I enjoyed your first review of the 718 so much I went out and purchased one the same month I retired. The launch control is AMAZING and it will make you smile every time. I decided to drive the car to the Gym at the speed limit of 55 and managed 37.1mpg @ 45 miles traveled!!! On the other hand I drove thru a tank of gas from Grand Junction Colorado to Utah / Nevada line and averaged 27 mpg which an average speed of 85mph. I haven't gotten a ticket yet, but I do agree it doesn't get the attention of law enforcement. I did opt to buy a $600 Escort, just to be safe. My plan is to buy another Cayman once I turn over 125K miles in about two years. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on that flat six for sure!! Oh yeah, I purchased the LED side light over at Porsche to replace those ugly yellow light covers on the side, plus I put ceramic light tint to block out the UV. It makes it a lot cooler inside the car when it's 110F outside. I found the clear glass to get too hot when driving thru the desert in Southern California. It's amazing how many 911, corvette, etc drivers walk over to compliment me about the car. Car enthusiasts understand what this model is all about. The only thing I don't like about the car is the road noise. To be honest, you can hear a lot of road noise while cruising at 85, so its definitely not a Lexus. I just crank up the stereo a little more at speed. I was told by my Porsche dealer to expect only 35K miles max on tire wear. My tire dealer said they will cost me a little under 2K, but its worth it. The car feels like it is AWD. I haven't lit up the tires because the traction control solves that problem. I've only driven the car a few times in heavy rain and its amazing how it handles wet roads. I described this car to my salesman and Porsche dealership owner as it's like driving a high performance motorcycle, but your inside of an air conditioned cockpit with airbags. The most miles driven in one day in the 718 is 1300 miles. I'm 6'1" 220 pounds and I wasn't sore or uncomfortable at all. As you said in your vid the visibility is outstanding. You just feel you're part of the car when driving it, just flat out FUN (sub 4 sec 0-60 and 180mph top)!! Anyway, make sure you review the new high end 718 with the flat six when it comes out. I told my Porsche dealer, your first REDLINE review on the 718 GTS sold me and I purchased the exact model in May 2019 and haven't regretted it at all, Thanks Dude!!!

FYI, the monthly payment in the link is NOT his lease payment, it's to BUY the car. As always, read the fine print: "This is a FOR SALE - OFF LEASE vehicle with a loan proposal and not a lease transfer. You can purchase this Porsche 718 for $1, 304.87 a month for 72 months. You will own this vehicle after making 72 monthly payments.

Will you accept a sincere thank you as payment?

It's crazy that you owned that Porsche for over a year, but its even crazier that the Sega Dreamcast is turning 21 years old later this year.

Yea given that it’s a $1, 300.00 monthly payment on a 4 cylinder Porsche, I’d sell it too. That’s a mortgage payment for 4 cylinders and a badge.

Let us know how much money you lose when you sell it, including any money you put into it in the last year. That would be interesting.

Good thing that car is it'll hide all those fine scratches that Shine Armour and rag is leaving when you washed the dirt off.

I just bought a 5 Cylinder for 64k...
2018 Audi TT RS with 9k miles on it, 1 owner. AWD, Duel Clutch, Virtual Cockpit, Leather Quilted Stitching, 0 to 60 in 3.5. My monthly payment after 15k down is $760. Insurance is $130. I was also looking at a 2017 Caymen S. Glad I passed.

$1300/month wow. That’s a lot higher than I was expecting. That’s a nice-house-mortgage in St Louis money.
