Flashing the Subaru ECU using Cobb Accessport

hey man, I bought a car, it was already tuned and they told me that to install the COBB ACCESPORT I must reset the ECU before installing the COBB ACCESPORT, is that true?
Or can I install it without any problems?

i’m trying to reflash my car it says battery voltage too high and i’ve tried turning on all the accessories. doesn’t lower.
