We adopted a dog from a place that had a whole large litter in one small run. They warned us that she always would escape. They told us to keep her locked up. When we got her home we thought we had made a mistake. She was going crazy in the crate. We live on a farm so we decided that we had to let her go and let the chips fall where they may. We had her for 12 years. She never left our farm on her own once. She was one of the best dogs we have ever had.

All dogs deserve a family, not all families deserve dogs🥺

I adopted a Chihuahua. The shelter gave her a chip, spayed her and did all the right things. Thanks, guys! But they didn’t tell us, Ginger had been returned to the shelter 3 times, and so nervous about being abandoned. My husband is a mechanic so was test driving a vehicle. He just scooped her up, put her in the vehicle and drove down the road. Ginger started shaking and threw up. Come to find out, she thought he was taking her back to the pound. Now we know. We put her in and harness her up and talk excitedly about where we’re going and what she will get to do. Lots of love! 💖

I adopted a 5 year old Cane Corso female, and the shelter wanted to reinforce to me that I would have to pay to return her, she was returned it ended there. I've had her for 3.5 years now - and she is the BEST most beautiful dog ever. I took her to a trainer because she weighed more than I am the alpha, and she is the BABY!! Adopt don't shop!!!!

Cane Corso’s are incredibly protective of their families once they settle in. Those kids will have the ultimate protector.

Logan’s story made me 😢 he looked so heartbroken and ashamed after having been returned. Most people really don’t deserve these fur-angels. I’m glad in the end he found a home. Praying they give him the love, respect, and care he deserves.

It's disappointing how little effort some people put into coping with an animal.
My dog has been through serious trauma and will still charge me due to his guarding nature. He's 90 lbs and was a difficult situation to deal with initially.
After 4 years, I can't imagine my life without him and he's an amazing dog. Like all people, each dog has something about them that is unique or may require extra time/training. It's absolutely worth it

I cried through this one. My boy is a giant breed who was discarded and set on fire. When i met him omntje shelter it was clear that he had given up on life. He was emaciated with half his fur birned away. Now hebis fat and happy. He is an amazing nanny dog to smaller dogs and puppies.

I adopted a pitbull from our local shelter. Brought her home, she ate windowsills, holes in the wall, the futon in the room. I ordered all natural dog calming pills from Amazon. She was able to calm down nicely, and is now a goofy love bug ! Smart as neck which is probably one reason she was so stressed ! Great dog, all she needed was stress free help. Don't take on the dog unless you are really going to "rescue" them. I am loved !! ❤❤❤❤❤

3 years ago I went to my local shelter to shop for a dog. I was introduced to a 6 yr old pittie mix that nobody wanted. We were placed in a room so we can get to know each other. She was all over me like a cheap suit when the lady from the shelter came into the room to see how we were doing. Abby did not leave my side, she was asking me in the best way she knew for me to take her home with me. She's been with me since that first meeting. I believe she picked me. In the 3 years we've been together, she has never done anything wrong in the house and when she thinks she has, she apologizes in the cutest ways. Abby is my 4th shelter dog and every one of them have been sweethearts. Abby is now in training to get her certificate to be able to visit nursing homes and children's hospitals.

Rocky, I have to tell ya... this episode made me cry. I could feel the pain that that big, beautiful puppy was enduring after being returned to the shelter. All he wanted was love.. to love & to be loved. I cried because he was given back (like he wasn't able to know someone ELSE didn't want him) and I cried even more when he was adopted by that family. I pray they love that big boy with everything they have cuz I know he's gonna be giving them even more than that. Thank you for all you do.

I have a cattle dog x corgi. She was abandoned in an apartment, and then returned to the shelter three times in a year. She looks like a little teddy bear, but it's a working beast. She's hard, and a one person dog who demands partnership rather than a "master". She's the best dog I could want, but it took months with for her to learn to allow herself to love. Now she glows with love and trust.

As a mom to a scary looking large Cane Corso. I can tell you that they can be the most loving, gentle, affectionate, protective family members you could hope to have. My Enzo loves all kids, loves all dogs, loves hugs and cuddles. Always has to be touching me and gets sad when any of us spend more than a couple of hours away. They needs lots of love. And need to get their energy out with daily walks to keep them in check. Do all the things and you will be happy and protected and they will be the most loyal best friend you will ever have.

I saw a cane corso dumped on the back streets of my small town. I went to get food and water for him but he ran from me. I prayed. Didnt see him again for a week. Next time i saw him he was laying in the road too weak to move. Another lady had stopped to help him. We were too scared to lift him because he was too heavy. She had to wait until her husband got home to help but dog had moved. They drove around all the next day trying to find him but couldn't. I was so upset that I drove around looking and literally asking God to let him surface again because this couple wanted him. Three days later I saw him on the side of the road. Looked liked someone tried to put food out. I stopped, called the couple and they raced over. The man picked him up and put him in the front seat. No easy feat. They took him home and now he has a family....a happy ending. He was a big old baby sweet as he could be. Local rescue wouldnt take him because of how big his breed is. They were scared for their smaller dogs.
