All it takes is a 250k machine and you can grind a thread that you could do in ten minutes on a cheap home lathe.

Теперь я видел всё. Я токарь программист ЧПУ 25 лет стажа, почувствовал себя как будто начал вчера.

Doesn't look so time efficient to me and also the surface of the thread looks a bit chattered(maybe it is just the video). There is burr at the start of the thread and a chamfer wouldn't hurt there as a relief.

Don't get me wrong, it is a brilliant machine, but I don't think it is ideal for these kind of applications.

Wheels on the blue bins would have made some great outtakes!

For a thread gauge, I could see this being appropriate. Not sure what other application would require such precision of threads. If you're using threads for precise alignment, something is wrong.

До сих пор не понимаю как обеспечиваются размеры таким способом
Идет постоянная коррекция на износ круга? Там же сотки точно уходят, выкрашиваясь

What's the point of this vs. regular thread turning?

One question I always have is about wheel wear as you bring the part? Not enough to throw off part dimensions?

What does the rest of that bus-sized machine do for a living?

I like how our thoughts are still basically: "Just throw a rock at it"

That machine is too clean. This must be the only thing it's ever machined

You know this is an expensive piece of machinery when they only use a three jaw chuck🤯.

What cooling fuild is used, got an old cnc mill and seems like the fluid in it caused a bit of rust.

Noob here: say you wanted super duper precise torque out of a bolt, within thousands of an inch for x reason, would this be a way to do it or does it all depent on the torque wrench?

That's a lot of machine for an 8 inch chuck.
