Definitely team physical books to write side notes and highlight.

I have recently found your channel and loving your videos! I’ve been teaching for 20 years and spent the last 8 years as a reading specialist. I made a huge decision to move from a huge district to a small district and go back to the classroom next year. Your videos are helping me SO much!! Thank you. I plan to binge watch most of them 😊

Thank you so much Michelle for those recommendations. Funny you mentioned "HOW TO DIFFERENTIATE INSTRUCTION IN ACADEMICALLY DIVERSE CLASSROOMS". I read that book as one of the textbooks assigned to my "Curriculum Development and Assessment" classes in Graduate school. Very good book indeed. I should've gotten the companion quick reference guide you mentioned. I will get it. Keep up the great service you do for us.

Yes, I highlight. I also annotate in the margins and use a system of stars to rank the importance of the information.

Totally highlight in physical books! 🙌🏼

I don't use a highlighter when I read, instead I use sticky notes that stick out of the top of the book. I can make notes on the sticky note and I can easily return to that page.

Thank you for recommending books with your honest review! Sometimes it's overwhelming to choose which book to read because there are so many out there!

Heyyy...

I Love highlighting books as I read them, although I do love using Apple books to read and highlight them. Then I have digital access to it anytime and anywhere on any device I need.

I am a very avid reader to the point that as I am reading a book, I plan ahead for the next three so I am never left with nothing to read! That being said, this video was great! You already know that I read your book and while you say it's geared towards elementary, I can say from personal experience as a middle school teacher that I had many takeaways from your book. I'm very intrigued by the classroom management book. One thing I take pride in as a teacher is my classroom management, but I am always looking to try new techniques, so I think I will check this one out. I also have already listened to your podcast episodes about atomic habits and I keep saying I will read that book. I think it's time to pull the trigger and get it! A book I enjoyed was "Shattering the perfect teacher myth". Thank you again for all that you do and I can't wait for next week's video (and it will drop on my OFFICIAL LAST DAY!) Happy summer!

I have never highlighted a book!I just can't write in a book! I get a spiral notebook and take notes, or I use post-it notes. My college texts were like new! Great for resales! I hated when previous teachers would highlight or write in the margins in the teacher's manual! UGH! BTW, I have read 2 of the books you mentioned, Atomic Habits, and your book, of course!

Read Atomic Habits because of you and loved it!!!
The 5am Club and The Four Tendencies are also great reads.

Thanks for your recommendations, Michelle! I prefer physical books for professional development so I can annotate, but digital for fiction books that are just for fun. I have read three of the books you mentioned, but I would like to read them all. What I also want to read for next year is more books to support lower level English Language Learners, especially students who are new to the U.S. Also, I will be mentoring a first-year teacher next year, so I am going to buy her a copy of your book! Thanks for all you do. Have an amazing week! 💜

Teach Like a Pirate by Dave So inspiring. One of my favorite parts - If they charged a fee to attend your class - who would go? It's all about being the best you to meet the needs of all your learners.

I’d also recommend “Otherful” by Mike Kleba and Ryan O’Hara, it gives an entirely new perspective of not only how to teach but the fundamentals of being in a leading role in any scenario

I read that first book in my college class last semester :). Only 2 years left before I'm in a classroom of my own!
