@macman844 i had the last version before the current. I heard the newer one fixed some of the bugs and allows you to run it from another pc rather on your main sim pc. When i get a chance i will try to check version # of sim

Nice setup. Im thinking about the Saitek Cessna setup + Xplane to help me review PPL lessons. Are the feel of the controls somewhat realistic? Can you get your setup +the Carenado planes to feel like a real C152?

@ArekTerrix the eclipse must way better than the standard ch 3 lever. I hear you on dedents, however they are very light i really don't even notice them when flying. i would still recommend the trim wheel, It has the feel of the real one and it enhances the whole experience. Do you fly for real also?

@hondacrxrus Thanks for the Reply! I went ahead and bought the Eclipse yoke. I love it so far. It does center on the vertical access but it has a deadzone in the center where the yoke does not auto center. This is closer to a real plane. This yoke feels very smooth and is pretty strong so I am happy with my choice. The dedents were the reason I didn't go for the Saitek. I went with saitek pedals though and they also are excellent.

About trackIR its good, the pro's: natural head movements when programmed correct get rid of the use of a hat switch and make the experience much more enjoyable. For me the big display up close in 3d with head tracking is really realistic well, until i ruin my eyes that is... i and look over the yoke at gauges and switches over the dash and out the window the bigger display makes my head motion more accurate, if it was 22" monitor i turn head left but most turn eyes right to see the screen

I think a combination of the two would be amazing but I do find flying more realistic in X-Plane. You should go to the sight and give it a shot, there is a free demo, it's the full version in a demo area for 15 mins. So what's your opinion of just the one large monitor, and Ir as opposed the three? I am curious because I have been thinking about it but it much harder and expencive to do so in X-plane. I have heard great things about tracker ir

@absolutsoju i am using fsx and the way it simulates is completely different than xplane. i will say it feels good. the devits are light and act sort as trim centering on a real plane. i don't think i would say it feels the same as in real life. there is no force feedback and you have no feeling of anything unless you have bass shakers or motion control. i currently use 2 buttkicker games for left an right channel audio, this helps make it feel more real. what are you try to practice?

very nice video, can you tell me please how do you install the touch screen in order to show the instruments

Hey, got a question for you. Does the yoke center itself on the vertical access and does it have centering detents? I am leaning more towards getting the CH Eclipse yoke because it is more realistic if the yoke does not auto center on that access and it does not have any detends. Then I saw the Cessna yoke was cheaper and affordable but could not find any information on it. Thanks, Arek

thanks for the reply, I'll assume you use it with fsx? I have it but mainly use x-plane 10. have you had any issue's with the tpm calibration wise?

ok, Multi screen is great for peripheral vision and more natural when flying vfr looking around and doing pattern work. My one 51" is much lower res 1280 by 720, however i can run fsx at max settings and is almost just as wide as 3 monitors x 1920 by 1080. thats 5760 x 1080 minis the bezel correction and those dame bezels. I think a multi screen projector setup using warpilizer or pixel blend wound be pretty cool on a curved screen 160 to 180 degree field of view.

@cba999casey Good question, yes and no. the virtual trim wheel does. The saitek doesn't . However there is no trim indication line so the only one you will see is in the simulator.

@hondacrxrus so if you disengage the auto pilot, then the trim jumps to the position to where the the saitek trim wheel is set? if the saitek trim wheel would not be an axis and function like a mouse wheel then it would be no problem to disengage the auto pilot, i had once set one of my steerwheel axis set to my trim, and on disenge autopilot i pulled 3 to 4 G in a second , my fspassengers where shocked.

the con's : trackIR can take abit to program a good profile. Any sunlight or candle / light high in IR will mess up tracking. Limited range of head motion where tracking fails, misscalibration if mounted too high or low, problem with have a 51" monitor. And i believe it has a low refresh rate. Now Natural point the company that makes trackir makes professional products that use multi cameras and overcome all these limitations just be ready to spend at least $3000.00

I realize the sim's biggest limitations like feedback, motion, etc.. and I don't need things like that. I'm just curious about its pitch yaw roll trim rates when you move the controls, are they realistic.. but then again thats probably something I just adjust myself. I'm just using the sim simultaneously while taking my PPL to review the actual lessons I'm taking to work up towards the checkride. Im only use a joystick right now, but the sim helps alot, procedurally.

lilipup touch screen usb monitor, running software called simtouch. cost almost 180.00 for the 7" touch screen and about 70.00 i think for the software. I hope this was helpful.

its kindof like a 3d imax . yes lower res however no its bigger display with 3d for depth perception, helps with landings
