Laurie Anderson is treading on unusual ground, and I think it is consummately wonderful. I think of the movie _Smoke Signals._ She is, I believe, onto something sublimely important, and powerful. If stories must always be factual or historical, then they will always ignore or bar what a better world could be. Jesus spoke in parables for a reason.
