Fun fact. This is the interview that inspired Jay Leno to change his name to Jay Cutler and compete against Ronnie the following year.

My gf at the time recorded me arm wrestling him. He was touring in Ontario Canada.... of course I asked if be would let me win for the video. He did. Great guy. He was in town a couple days and got to see him at my gym. Awesome guy.

I met him at my local gym in Placentia Ca in 2003. He came walking out of the bathroom when I saw him. His body covered the entire entrance. I cannot put into words how big he was. A while later he was getting pumped for a shoot pre Olympia right next to me. I was 6'1 240 doing overhead dumbbell press with 90 pound dumbbells. He looked at me in the mirror during the set and said "come on little man." Greatest and fondest memory of training at Powerhouse Gym. Milos Sarcev was the owner, also a nice man as was his wife. Shawn Ray trained full time there. Jay Cutler came an hour later for photos and did not look even close to as good. Ronnies legs were at least 40 inches wide. And during his t bar row sets the entire gym paused because of his intensity and the screams given the enormous weight. This gym had 220 pound dumbbells. It was awesome and sadly closed. Best gym and equipment I had ever seen, and intense.

Still remember the first time ever seen him. My wife, girlfriend at the time, was working in T-Shirts plus in Six Flags Mall. A lady got caught using a stolen credit card throughout the mall and she got caught because she had t-shirts made and came back to get them. Ronnie and lady cop came when the cops were called. I could see him from about 50 yards away walking to the store and was like what in the hell is that. He was huge! He was wearing police uniform/shorts. Very cool guy. I called him Robocop. This was '94-'95 because I remember a few months later seeing him in the muscle magazine when he won a Canadian championship. Still run into him every blue moon. A couple of times at the Dallas Wings game. Shell of himself now, but still a great guy.

So many cliché questions, but Ronnie is confident enough to wing it and laugh it off.

Ronnie is such a humble man and not like most of the egotistical bodybuilders. I've seen huge bodybuilders in my gym who are kinda prissy, spoil and think they are gods and believes everything revolves around them. Ronnie is the greatest in bodybuilding and personality.

Ronnie is a great ambassador for the sport: Personable, humble, hard-working, funny, intelligent, and articulate. Like Arnold, he brought bodybuilding to the masses and increased the popularity of the sport.
