Norman Finkelstein on Students 'Crocodile Tears'

In 2008, Professor Norman Finkelstein, who came from a family deeply affected by the Holocaust, expressed profound indignation over what he perceived as insincere grief, or "crocodile tears," from a student at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.

Finkelstein's father, an Auschwitz survivor, and his mother, who endured the Warsaw Ghetto and Majdanek concentration camp, faced significant losses within their family during the Nazi Holocaust. Finkelstein, driven by personal history, was angered when confronted by a Jewish student challenging his pro-Palestinian stance.

He remarked, "I don't respect the crocodile tears - if you had any heart in you, you would be crying for the Palestinians."
