Sonic Prime is a good show for fans and newcomers, however, it's held back by a few too many gimmicks.

Its pretty funny how the fans are like “please no more green hill” and then technically the whole series takes place in green hill

I personally love all the gimmicks in this show. Makes it really fun

The reason Sonic isn't in any of the other shatterspaces is because Sonic was the one to shatter the prism, thus not getting shattered into all these splinter universes with the rest of his friends. It does make me wonder what will happen to all the other versions though, if they are truly twisted pieces of Sonics actual friends like the name shatterspace implies and what memories they will have afterwards if that's true

this show has serious potential especially that cliffhanger

Sonic Prime's story is actually pretty terrifying if you think about it.

A single stone holding the very fabric of the universe. Something that would cause sheer Armageddon if Like damn. That's like the Earth having all the Infinity Stones.

Too many gimmicks? Sounds like your average Sonic experience to me lol

What if the chaos council were all actually robots programmed by the actual eggman that won, call him emperor eggman, and then bam you have a cool twist.

You bring up a good point about the Chaos Council I never thought about before. They’re gimmicky versions of Prime Eggman, just as competent as he is, so the only reason they took over the world was simply because there was no Sonic or Shadow to stop them.

Phineas and Ferb Across the second dimension also did the same thing. They even emphasized that while evil Doofenshmirtz shared similarities to Prime Doof, the evil one was smart enough to figure who Perry really was, and it’s how he won. So, it really undermines the gravity of the situation when the Council only won by sheer luck. Now that’s Sonic is here, he can surely stop them like the OG Eggman.

I honestly think Prime is better than both X AND Boom. It gets straight into the fast paced action and adventure worthy of the games. (And isn't bogged down with too much filler and low budget anime limitations like X.) The CG actually manages to keep the same kind of energy Sonic is known for. Plus the Multiverse concept gives it its own flavor and urgency.

I feel like "too gimmicky" is pretty accurate to a lot of Sonic's games, so I think this is actually a perfect adaptation

I've been thinking that this show takes place between Heroes (or Shadow) and the rest of dark age games. Sonic seems a lot closer to his heroes self with his impatient nature and his energy but it's also before all of the development and maturity that Sonic gained during the dark age

Not to mention the significantly smaller cast, only seeming to use characters from the Adventure games for the main cast

I still think Sonic CD handles the "what if Eggman won" concept the best.

I feel the situation with the dimensional shattering results in it being not an alternate dimension where egg man won, but realities shattered from their source, while all 5 eggman variants ended up in one reality, and aspects of each character ended up in the other realities, this isn't a typical displacement, aspects of the main reality have broken off from what I can tell.

so in reality the Chaos Council is more a "unchallenged egg man." rather than an "egg man that won.", there was no sonic in those worlds potentially, which is also why shadow is outside of the realities, he's the only one outside of sonic that essentially "phased" through the cataclysm

"We are 5 and 5 is One" might hold more weight that expected.

though I understand the criticism of the other realms being under developed. thats fair 1 roughly 45 min ep & 7 25 minutes eps wasn't enough

Honestly I think they should have dedicated 1 season to each shater space it would give time to expand upon each world and give the audience time to grow and care about the characters as it stands right now the pacing of the show feels too rushed

Hm, fair and valid points and opinions, I appreciate that you think it’s good at least, let’s hope Part 2 does better.

Small complain: I dont mind the Chaos Council as much but I do HATE their names. The city is egg themed, so does the bots, but only one of them is egg themed.

I feel it'd have been more memorable if they were named after different egg things. Out the top of my head:

Dr. Done-it = Dr. Fry
Dr. Deep = Dr. Benedict
Dr. don't = Dr. Deviled
Dr. Babbles = Dr. Scramble

14:07 you may be thinking its just a tree whats so special about it if your thinking this thin your not alone sonic felt the same way too but in the show Amy urged sonic to look deeper and in the meta sense is asking the audience watching to pay closer attation Amy: the gift isnt just the tree it's all the momories we made around that tree) according to Amy what makes the tree special is that it represents the momories and expreiences shared by Sonic and his Friends
