I offered my Rosary for him at around 4:30 am EST. That must have been in his final hours Rome time.

I have a simple Miraculous Medal that was blessed by Benedict at a general audience, provided to all the faculty at the Catholic school where I taught at the time.(I'm retired, long since). I cherish that tiny, pot-metal medal. And, a snapshot taken by my sister in law when she and my brother were in the street in front of St Mary Major when they were in Rome. He had just been elected. They (both Protestant) remarked on his kindly demeanor and felt lucky to have seen him.
RIP, Pope Benedict. I missed you after you resigned. Thank you.

I was away from the church for 20 years and when he was elected I just saw another old man. But I was drawn to his obvious humility and this helped me come back to the Church along with his writings. May he be in paradise with Jesus.

I woke up 2:30 am central time. I wake up groggy because I'm on medication and usually go back to sleep. This time I was compelled to say a rosary for Pope Benedict. So weird for me to be able to say 5 decades without falling asleep. When I finished I fell asleep. It wasn't until I got up at 10am that I found out he had passed away. I was stunned when I looked up Vatican time compared to central time to see that it was the time the pope died. Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and may perpetual light shine upon him. Amen. Glory to God for giving me the opportunity to pray for him on his journey.
