Finally people have figured this out. The original GT7 release date trailer also had incredibly expensive prices for tuning parts. It's all because they're using the japanese version of the game, which converts the price of everything to feel like yens.

The clue is that a stage 1 weight reduction is close to 500k 😂

What throws it off even more is the fact that nothing else on the screen is in Japanese. Therefore you wouldn’t assume the currency is Yen

Japanese player here.
You guys should see it cost us 2 billion (yes, billion with a B and not million) credits for the Merc 300 SL (W194)! 😂

3:06 this would also explain why weight reduction stage 1 is soooo expensive too

Really strange this was something some people could not figure out.
Its really not difficult to understand it was yen.

I will say I hope we get the option to swap out those stickers on the racing tires as I would hate to see those modern Michelin stickers on my Cobras and SL300s.

0:58 The clue is right there in the picture. It shows weight reduction 1 as Cr430, 000. Obviously a different currency

The prices in the trailer roughly represent Japanese Yen. That's it. I believe it's only in the JP version where credits are rated differently, everywhere else credits represent roughly the US Dollar. That's why the JP version gets two more zeroes on everything: prize credits, car prices, upgrade costs, etc.

I hope it doesn´t overwrite the slicks on some of the repilcas we made since launch, but probably will...

As cool as it is to see the Eiger Nordwand circuit make a comeback, I really hope that we get the rallycross layouts in either this update or a future one.

Now that Michelin are the official tyre sponsor, does that mean we won't be able to change between various tyre stickers in the livery editor?🤔

The fact you had to make a video about this is crazy. People need to get out more 💀

When GT7 trailers were coming out the prices were like this. The Aston Martin DB12 was like 2mil in the game trailer but when the game came out it was like 200k so I don't see a reason to worry here. I'm glad they added them, hoping for those michelin tyre stickers for all cars not just race ones. Defo getting these for all my cars

The cost of living hitting polyphony as well is it? Price is going up everywhere, even in our games

Honestly, I saw the video title and thumbnail and my first thought was "... Did... Did people forget this game is made in Japan?" 😹

Who hadn't worked this out yet? The real problem is outlined at 3:26

Finally The Lamborgini Gallardo and the Subaru Ralley Car of 1998

I had assumed the high prices were for a Michelin version of the tyres, more expensive but better, and the original unbranded ones would still be there at their original prices. This makes more sense though.

Wew😂
I would’ve had to pass on the tires but now I know I don’t have to
Much appreciated
