Wait, you're getting rid of your Fuji gear?!?!

Reggie, onwards and upwards, you don't even need to make 'excuses' I think. Your work is you, not your camera. Enjoy those Ricohs - I've been using a GR3 and I have to say, it's incredible.

Love this new «explorer mode» that you just seems to have unlocked! I recently made the switch from my X100V to the GR twins, now rocking both 28mm and 40mm in my pockets. What a revelation: The GR gets me out of the «pro photographer» mode and into the observational, competent snapshooter mode in a way I really, really enjoy. The lack of viewfinder prevents me from putting the camera to my eye and start being picky. The lack of f2.0 prevents me from the bokeh-hunting that detracts my attention from more important pieces of the image. The stealthy, anonymous camera prevents me from having people notice and complement the camera all the time, as was the case with the X100V all the time.

Yes, the low light AF is terrible on the GR. But it has the unique snap focus, that I am now exploring. And amazingly: both the advantages AND the limitations of the GRs actually boost my creativity in ways I didn't expect. The optics are amazing, the files a joy to edit.

Have fun!

Congrats on the purchase of the Ricoh cameras. I am a long time Fuji shooter (X-T3) and have recently added the GRiii x. All I can say is that I'm blown away by the IQ of this tiny, truly pocketable monster... it easily equals the Fuji IQ and brings it's own unique character to the party. You'll love it.

Congrats on the new chapter Reggie. Your content and advice got me interested in Fuji and made me a better photographer overall. Looking forward to the new content!

good luck with the GR Reggie; it's a great little camera. I had it once but sold it just for the simple fact of the fixed LCD; I have to have a flip screen. I would think by now that Ricoh would understand that, and would release a GR iv with a flip screen.

Ayyy! I was really curious what camera you were going to reveal and I have that camera! The Ricoh GR III is stealthy. You're literally invisible and no one takes you seriously so snapping photos is a breeze and no one gives you weird looks. Also, Snap Focus is soooo handy. You're going to love the Ricoh. I love my Fujifilm X-T3 but it definitely gets people walking up to me and talking about film cameras. Nobody bats an eye when they see the Ricoh. And I love it for that.

The GR3 is great. I struggled a bit at first to figure out how to use it well. The 2.8 lens makes it not super great for family pics indoors at night without going high on the ISO, but the stabilization is great. When I took it to Europe this past summer and was shooting with it on the streets of Brussels and Amsterdam was when I really saw it shine. I got street photo grabs easily thanks to snap-focus, the built-in ND, and the crazy sharp lens. I was even able to do some 1-sec exposures of moving vehicles with static subjects hand-held thanks to the IBIS. Lots of creative possibilities - I think you're going to love it. :)

The GR is a beast of a camera. The lens is wicked sharp, and the preset JPG processing modes are great, and the raw DNG files are easy to work with (no LR worms here!). The only downside is lack of bokeh, but the tradeoff for pocketability is nice. Looking forward to hearing more about your thoughts, especially from a day to day documentary POV!

A align with "documentation" and "enrich my life by noticing the beauty by everything around me" :) This is why i picked up film photography! slowing down, being intentional, and capturing moments without perfection.

big fan :) and thanks!

I appreciate the transparency Reggie! People get stuck on brand loyalty when they should be loyal to the game instead.

Great decision for your goal! Fuji is fantastic but your reach can be even larger without locking in.
