Elmore James is one of the most important blues artist to follow Robert Johnson. It's also interesting to note that Robert Johnson was the first artist to record this song. Blues songs were treated like jazz standards by a lot of blues artist, so it's tricky to find out who originally wrote the songs. Singles were also the popular medium to hear music back in the 50's, so a lot of these blues tracks were a little scattered and hard to identify with a specific album.

The slide work for his classic song Dust my Broom is legendary. It's to hard to imagine electric guitar without that opening slide lick. It's like trying to imagine the world without the Beatles or Star Wars.

This isn't the original 1951 version of the song, I chose this later recorded version because it's a little heavier and has more energy to it. I hope this inspires more people to check out Elmore James

Exceptional that you cover a wide range of artists over a lengthy span of time...

the main riff is played between the 12th and 10th frets, so that you slide between every note. It sounds a little different. You have it between the 12th and 15th frets and therefore miss most of the slides.
