In my expierence putting the tube in before putting on the tire halfway on is wayy easier. Did both

To prevent wheel damage i cut both sidewalls all the way around with a utility knife. The tread portion falls off leaving the two sidewalls. Then i break each bead with tapered plastic construction shims you can get almost anywhere tapped in between the tire and wheel adding in shims until the beads break and each sidewall falls off. Use 6-8 tie wraps cinched up on the new tire as you squeeze the beads together with your hand and the tire will fall on the rim. I haven't done a tube but the cinched up beads should hold the tube in place perfect. You can squeeze the tire or move it slightly to take pressure off the tie wraps as you pull them out to prevent damaging the bead or tube. Basically you're eliminating the drop center and struggling with the beads by separating them during removal and cinching them together during install. It increases the bead circumference when squeezed together to about the same circumference as the rim.

zip ties. Twice and fast. Way less likely to pinch a tube. I put my front on my klr with zero tools. slightly aired tube in tire. Ziptied closed and mounted it up using my hands and upper body. No spoons
