Screen Memories: The Horrible Truth Behind Alien Abductions

Here we look at a very tragic alien abduction story and the unconscious repression that produced it. How many alien abductions are not a product of "extraterrestrials" but trauma? It sounds like the suppression mechanism spoke to the child trying to tell him that they are protecting the child and letting him survive the trauma in early childhood by living on lies temporarily until he grows up.

It's tragic how this Marty recollects the language of their abuser so accurately, which makes it obvious to us, and yet the truth is so deeply repressed within them they cannot ever be made aware of it. Though perhaps it's a sick kind of mercy, to be forever ignorant to the immense violation that has been inflicted upon them.

The point you made about the distinction between actual and imagined E.T. encounters brings to mind something you've said before. I can't remember where, but it was on the topic of familial abuse, about ‘bringing things into the light’, as opposed to the ubiquitous and ultimately ineffective denial of trauma across cultures. That it is better to know the truth in all its terror, than to be shackled by a comforting lie. For Marty, I would like to believe it's not too late, but living for (over) fifty years with this Screen Memory, I can't help but feel that the reality of his past might break him irreparably.

As you say, real archetypal phenomena wills itself to be prevalent, to be shared amongst the psyches of people. It is the darkness of human deeds that wishes to be shrouded in secrecy.

You say this is the case for real traumatic events. (you're crazy, you're making it up. it didn't happen) which undeniably does happen often.

But there are also instances of being heard.. and loved. I am ever so grateful to be apart of the latter. Being in the state where you have screen memories and repress everything is psychic torture. i've noticed a general openning and flowing of all that is in the process of accepting and letting go of a deeply traumatic event... there *is* hope, and it *did* happen. 💘

Unrelated, but in my country and maybe yours too(the reader) there are urban legends of children eating catfish, supported by allegedly caught catfish that had children remains in their stomachs, when i was a child i was lightly scared of the rivers and lakes because of this, now that I'm older i realize that in truth the children were probably: already dead before being dumped in the water, killed or drowned in the water; whose remains then were picked appart by local fish

Been reading the whitley strieber communion series at my father's recommendation through his cancer currently and I appreciate the "tell everyone/tell no one" context, because Streiber talks about the screen memory experiencers a lot before it became a bigger part of the pervasive mythos, and I've been dwelling too much on the concept for its animal symbolism in the "tell everyone" context. I was in need of a good barometer for placing due importance on the traumatic realworld experiences, and I think that really helps differentiate them. He has his own "believe these survivors" rhetoric for the bodily invasive encounters, but is obviously going to be more focused on making a case for something greater instead of documenting how to discern which experiences should clearly not be put into some metaphysical narrative.

Another very twin peaks-esque story today, so peculiar that memory screens and repressed memories reflect supernatural phenomena much like how bob and the other weird occurrences in the show seem to be innately interlinked with lauras suffering and abuse

I believe that our psyche sees these things as so unnatural and traumatizing that the only way to justify or make sense of them is to create equally unnatural events

Even abductions that may not be trauma screens seem to have a giveaway when the abducted is about to enter a craft. In several cases people suddenly find thenselves inside. It is etheral not real.
