As a Darius main, I do think this is one way to play the Dunkmaster. I prefer this season in ranked running flash teleport in almost all match ups. being the immobile terror of top lane, I find myself getting outclassed this season without fervor of battle.I also used to run stormraiders in early dominant lanes that were in my favor. I compensate this by running full tank setups such as grasp or aftershock. reasoning is if I already have such a hard time with kite-ability due to kit restraints, why not do something that will help my team this season rather then going for that carry position myself. even if i play an immobile champ i know that this will mean that the jungler will prioritize my lane if i am not careful on positioning and minion management. I play as safe as i can to avoid causing a deficit for my team but also prioritize keeping my laner no matter who they are fixated on me, and if I can the jungler as well. i love getting camped, for every second the jungle spends around me, it means less time around my team. i often see to many carry oriented junglers in bronze, silver, and gold, meaning I have the be that front line. with the new 8.2 patch to aftershock i believe that its actually the most optimal way to go since your primary focus is the role of raid boss the huge early early game buff to aftershock for champions without resistance steroids is massive. rip rammus 8.1 abuser :C. i used to on e pull proc it for about 32 armor and like 29 magic resist. now that its a flat number, that i want to say is 70 for both armor and magic resist your early game trading is much healthier. and this only get better as the game goes on increasing more then you could have stacked in 8.1. meaning you wont always have to land that fifth stack to make a trade in your favor. some of the hardest early game match ups like Ornn, Trundle, Riven, and Olaf often cant trade into you because your stacking a ridiculous 100 armor once you proc aftershock. with Darius full combo auto-W-Q-E-auto you can trade with the best of them again without sticking your neck out in lane for just the last stack for 5. tank Darius can be in my opinion one of the most underrated champs for season 8. granted your not a one many army anymore, unless the enemy team just doesn't know how stacking with him works or has no sence of kiting at all. the way you compensate this is a black cleaver righteous glory rush. his biggest strength is the massive ad steroid from his passive however you must land your e on a high priority target to get your resistances for 2.5 seconds. the annoyance of having a level 16 darius with 4.2k health and righteous glory coming into start a team fight is absurd. if they had summoners, they most likely dont anymore and want to be as far from you as possible. this crucial window in timing is what makes or breaks a team fight with darius top. You have to be dar i say it thick enough by the time your q comes up that they have all their cooldowns holding them from finishing you off. Be greedy in team fights take those kills. Nobody else gets 5.75 BF swords worth of stats for getting a kill with their ultimate you are the strongest when you reset. going full man mode is fun and all, but if you cant survive to achieve it then doesn't seem right to play it. Darius is a self centered jerk that unwillingly has to rely on his team to set him up. hes not catching anyone unless righteous is up. if your being focused surviving the longest you can is only going to increase your ADC"s damage as well since they will also survive longer.

runes that i run are (resolve tree)aftershock> demolish> conditioning(swap for iron skin or mirrior shell for heavy ad or ap poke)> overgrowth(thicker is better)

(precision tree) triumph(super strong on all mega tanks with that juicy 12 percent health heal)> scaling legend tenacity( more Q's better raid boss) one can make an argument for revitalize. User preference really. i prefer having that extra 300+ later in game.

As a Darius main, I'd switch Scorch to Gathering Storm. Darius has no trouble winning lane and doesn't exactly need the extra 20-ish magic damage. Gathering Storm feels really good, somewhat makes up for the lost AD you'd get from fervor.

You can also use fleet footwork now or grasp depending on the matchup (grasp for tanks), if they only have one tank try going for triforce it helps you get 5 stack fast

I was just watching you play darius cause i never tried him before you really inspired me to play him hes broken as hell, though he lacks the ability when catching up to enemies different from garen that can catch up at you with q, anyways thanks glacier <3.

Was Garen Main lvl 7 etc but now darius main lvl 7 cuz in my opinion garen doesnt make this fun anymore because his kit is so simple

yeah on my part, I use Fleet Work for Darius for that extra lifesteal in early game especially while trading or dueling 1v1 on top lane. I don't usually depend in his q heal 'cause some champ (Riven, Shen and Illaio) can easily dodge him. Great Video tho, It really helps a lot of player aiming for Higher elo and Darius is a good champ to master on top lane

I played alot of darius recently to, 160K mastery points (i know not the most) i only run phase rush if i know i can easily beat the enemy toplaner, against hard matchups and heavy tanks like Ornn, Malphite or Sion i still run Grasp. Good video :)
