Chanel beauty rose to the next level and above with Lucia. Unbelievable collections.
I don’t know why everyone blames her for overusing red; the first collection that comes to my mind is the Desert dream spring collection with muted lilac and khaki colors, I think the entire collection was a masterpiece.
Then there was the cruise/les beiges collection with the innovative fresh water tint that everyone is still after (the one that’s constantly sold out) and a 9-pan neutral les beiges palette… no red there whatsoever. and so much more, so much more than red, outstanding creations and collections. The only distinct “red” collection was her first one and then the pink one a few years after. As for a plethora pf red lipsticks, Chanel has always been doing that, with and without her.
She created three 9-pan eyeshadow palettes that are absolutely unique and Chanel had never done anything like that before. And the formulas got better and better year after year- for eyeshadows, highlighters, complexion products…. Channel was lucky to have her on board and I think her input is immense. I wanted to buy every collection and just couldn’t skip, everything was so good. (of course with a few exceptions, but it only makes sense).
She brought back liquid eyeshadows, too, and introduced the shadow/crayon sticks that are so awesome. My favorite era for Chanel beauty so far. Of course she has a whole team to put her ideas to life, but she sure tests the formula as she has the vision for the product, and the formulas have been a huge step up with her guidance.
Thank you so much, Angela, as always for sharing the news, we’re lucky to have you 🌺

Her dessert inspired collection is probably the most striking and beautiful collections. I really hope that she is given room to grow and experiment with new colour palettes. I can't wait.

Thank you so much Angela for keeping us updated on this, really you are the only creator here on YouTube who has kept up with the news and shared it in a dedicated post. I think Lucia Pica is a brilliant addition to Byredo, she has the edge this brand is after. Byredo seems to aim for a futuristic European imagining. Futurism always has a sleek, attractive minimalism, but also something foreboding and weird, because there is an element of the unknown in the future. This is where Lucia Pica will bring those reds and metallics, in the space age metal packaging styles Byredo does. I think Lucia was some fresh air at Chanel to expand their color palettes out of pastels and black liner. She has done the shake-up, but it was 2 years of ideas lasting 5 years. It’s time for someone new who will have more openness to do their vision because Lucia was so bold and opened up the creativity a bit at Chanel. But we are ready to move on from red/brown looks for sure. My favorites were the ombré eye shadow palettes last spring and the du Desert highlighter two years ago.

So she is back! Can’t wait to see what she will do. She does have a red tendency 😂 which I do not love. I’m excited to see what she will create. Thank you for the update beautiful Angela 💕

As a fellow commenter noted, Lucia didn't just do red all the time, however that is how I noticed makeup and got into Chanel, given it is my favourite colour, too.
I have been wanting to purchase a Byredo palette ever since they came to be, but either the reviews about the formula or the colour palettes - somehow I just haven't felt they are speaking to me. Byredo's colour palette is fresh, compared to even the latest creations of Dior, and braver than many others. If anything, I expect this two to merge with Lucia's impeccable taste of the subtle differences of undertones, regarding colour creations. It is sophistication itself and maybe that is what I lacked from Byredo. Their latest big palette reminded me of a KvD eyeshadow palette and both layouts and colour stories were just flat for me and overwhelming at the same time.
With Lucia I could feel the artistic relation between the products, the brand and myself as the consumer, too. Maybe the Chanel marketing team was just that good at the time, but maybe it was always in Lucia's eyes. : )

Always love to hear makeup news and see what is new and now! Not a fan of Byredo though or Lucia's Chanel palettes and really breathed a sigh of relief when she left. Now hopefully we will see the peaches and brown shades I love by Chanel!

Good news, Angela! I like Lucia Pica so much. As for her creativity, she's completely out of any systems, trends, incredibly talanted and strong personality! You may be surprised, but I like her red eyeshadows Candeur et Seduction (364). Using them I always keep in mind "Measure is treasure" and my eyes can look even office-friendly. The new chanel releases are stylish and more traditional. However, a lot of people are waiting for new, fresh, unexpected combinations of colours and textures.

I’m glad she is no longer at Chanel…I am not a red fan for eye or cheek makeup and Chanel is my favorite brand. Best wishes for her in her transition to Byredo. By the way, every top you wear is so stylish! Very classy 😎

My favorite eye palettes ever are warm memories, canduer et provocation, canduer et seduction. So beautiful, and the formulas are out of this world.

Even after Lucia Pica leaving, Chanel did reds. Now they are doing golds.

I think Lucia did good. But unfortunately she was not willing to explore other colors.

I don’t buy byredo, but good luck for her💕

I think it’s a good fit and look forward to seeing what they create. I was happy to see a change for Chanel as I was really not interested in all the red - I buy Chanel because I need everyday looks, not for editorial style (or to look like I haven’t slept). There were moments though, and I would still love to see that 9 pan Les Beiges palette come back.

I enjoyed and really loved that first release from that Chanel & Lucia working together so I am interested in seeing what she brings to Byredo. I have to be honest though, I really like Isamaya French and her edgy artistry. I thought Byredo and her were a good fit. But change happens and I’m interested in seeing what it brings.

I’m giving her the benefit of the doubt and I’m excited for her new opportunity! There’s so much makeup out there that there’s plenty to choose from. If you don’t like something, don’t buy it! 💕
